On 24/09/25, I visited the LAL CHOWK SRINAGAR BRANCH (Branch code: VJSRIN) to open a Bank of Baroda Savings Account. To my shock, the Branch Manager flatly refused to process my request, stating that since I reside in Baramulla district and the branch is 30 km away in Srinagar district, and is the only nearest BOB branch that I have, he added “RBI guidelines” prevent them from opening my account.
To further establish my credibility, I provided the following documents and proofs during my visit:
I have also tried opening the account online but for 1 month it is showing cannot complete operation due to technical issues.
What can I do now? Does anyone have a solution to it?
All suggestions are welcome. I am looking forward to file complaints where possible, if they will help.

- My ICICI Bank cheque book, passbook (Wealth Account holder)
- Transaction history and balance proof from my IDFC First Bank account created in Delhi (glad he didn't say the same shit thousand kms away) (Wealth customer)
