Misconduct and Denial of Savings Account Opening at Bank of Baroda

On 24/09/25, I visited the LAL CHOWK SRINAGAR BRANCH (Branch code: VJSRIN) to open a Bank of Baroda Savings Account. To my shock, the Branch Manager flatly refused to process my request, stating that since I reside in Baramulla district and the branch is 30 km away in Srinagar district, and is the only nearest BOB branch that I have, he added “RBI guidelines” prevent them from opening my account.

To further establish my credibility, I provided the following documents and proofs during my visit:

  • My ICICI Bank cheque book, passbook (Wealth Account holder)
  • Transaction history and balance proof from my IDFC First Bank account created in Delhi (glad he didn't say the same shit thousand kms away) (Wealth customer)
Despite producing these, the Branch Manager not only refused to open my account but also misbehaved with me, saying: “We are not interested in getting your account opened.” He said go open an account in any bank which is in your area, why are you coming here? Such words are extremely unprofessional and deeply disrespectful towards a genuine customer.

I have also tried opening the account online but for 1 month it is showing cannot complete operation due to technical issues.

What can I do now? Does anyone have a solution to it?

All suggestions are welcome. I am looking forward to file complaints where possible, if they will help.

Sidhe sidhe bolte hai .
Koi aur account variant kholkar dekho online .
Agar khul gaya to branch jakr jo account chahiye lelena .

Agar bob lite ya bro account ko normal me karwaoge to allowed hai , koi problem nahi hai .

Agar normal se bob lite ya bob bro me jaoge to problem hai account downgrade nahi hoga .

Agar online nahi khulta hai to ..

Ispar email thoko , reply me acknowledgement mail ayega aur kuch nahi .
Branch wale baad me bulayenge aur agar man hua to account khol denge nahi to bezzati karke bhaga denge.

Koi bhi account open nahi horaha online. It shows system not available, my friend from Delhi also wanted to open this account, he is trying from Delhi and is getting the same error.
I will write to these emails, but to be honest I think yeh mail wagairah se kuch nahi hone wala

Mail branch transfer hojayega baki wahi log ka marzi .
Simple sa baat hai agar branch ko account holders ka jarurat hoga to dusre state ka bhi account kholdenge .

Agar jarurat nahi hoga to RBI rules ye rules wo rules karke bhaga denge .

Ye experience se bolre mere idhar naya branch khula tha , pakar pakar ke account khulwa re the ...
