Mobile recharge price hike by 25% - (just a hunch/speculation it not hiked yet or may never hiked as much as 25%)

With my Jio prepaid I can dial out to 1800 and 1860 numbers with 0 costs associated to it..
ok, thanks. it is better to mnp to Jio from my existing Airtel in that case. but what if Jio does a u-turn on this policy? anything is possible in this country with that person at the helm of affairs.

Yes , you are right about "anything is possible"..
but at the moment Jio is a better option considering all the things except if the reception is poor in your locality

yes, valid till 31st Mar 2025
Today being friday, you can use the offer from Amazon.

No issues. It perfectly stacked up on existing plan

So on jio any plan can stack over any other plan? Currently I have the 666 plan active. Will the 2999 plan stack over this plan if I do a recharge on jio now?

What about Vi, does stacking work?

Hi, I have 1799/- plan of Airtel active currently with still 169 days left in the subscription. If I recharge with another 1799/- plan will I get additional 365 days validity?

I have done that before with Jio, but never with Airtel.
Have you tried this. I am also on 1799 plan. Does it give additional 365 days validity.

They are luring us into a trap, which is why it's concerning. Does everyone buy expensive clothes? No. Does everyone spend ₹5,000 on dining? No. Does everyone drink Starbucks? No.

But in the case of recharges, Jio made everyone so addicted to it by offering it for free that now no one can live without it. First, they offered everything for free, and now they are continuously increasing the prices.
this is such an idiotic and honestly a self-absorbed take, I have many complaints against Reliance/Govt including the way they handled the 4g spectrum auction and all the bullshit with AGR but Jio has been a blessing for poorer and even middle class people, if telcos had a way they would still increase prices and give us those bullshit 1gb/2gb a month packs where you still had to pay for calling.

Dunno about you, but atleast here, my help finally got a phone when they got unlimited calling, we have another guy who had a 20k following on tiktok (back when it wasnt banned), folks who I have personally helped upskill by giving them youtube playlists/textbooks, folks who can finally stay connected to internet and have a way to learn where in the olden days they would have had none except for whatever crap textbooks shoved at us.

Maybe for folks in tier1/2 cities, its not as big of an impact specially if they had broadband, but you dont know the impact it has had for those in tier 3 cities where decent network reception was a dream with no broadband facility, my father used to spend close 3k/month to get a plan on one of those mobile dongles so that I could learn or do whatever on the internet and I was probably the only one in my school who had free net access.

Jio and smartphones in general has been a boon for the lower class, they finally have a medium by which they can learn by themselves or do whatever. Yes, govt should regulate telco price increases and yes Jio did pull shady af shit but dont discount the entire thing just because "they made us addicted".

Coming back to the topic, has there been any price increases announced? I havent seen any, I'm thinking of porting to BSNL as there'a 4g tower recently setup in my area according to Tarang Sanchar, I have a fiber connection so main thing will be to keep it active and a little bit of calling

These are flexi benefits that come under Section 17
hey, have you claimed it for your entire family if your cc/dc is used? I just came to learn I can claim flexi benefits even under new regime too, and HR has agreed to backdate those claims as long as I can give them receipts, I am the only guy who recharges the entire household's plans

Hey nope, my employer limits it to broadband or postpaid bill(1 number only). So can't claim for entire family.

Regarding CC/DC, the bil should be in your name to claim the benefit. For backdating, only bills in current FY will count and only some flexi benefits are allowed in new regime.

Yes, I have broadband. That's the main issue. I have 5 active SIMs in my home and I am spending around 12K annually for prepaid recharges, whereas my broadband costs only 399 per month.

So, technically, I am paying around 12K just for calls. I don't need their internet because it is terrible in my area. So, it's a simple waste of money for me, and now they are planning to increase the plans even more, so it may cost me around 15K in future.

I understand that because of Jio, every Indian is now using the internet, and that was a great revolution. But now they are trying to take a huge advantage.

I have provided speed test results for the Jio 4G in my area. Why should I pay for that? But I still have to because I have no other choice. This was not the case before. They should at least provide affordable call-only plans.

Speed Test: https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/10161699043

Speeds are mentioned in Mega Bits Per Second so the actual speed is only 411 KBps for download & 128 KBps for upload.
