Need advice: Accept ₹10,000 compensation from BOBCARD or push further? (RBI case –incorrect card issued without consent)

I need your advice on accepting compensation in a credit card mis-selling / unauthorized issuance case.

I had filed a complaint in April 2025 against BOB Financial because a co-branded RuPay card was issued on my bob card primary account but in the name of my family member without my consent. I had clearly declined that variant and only requested for the Eterna variant. The sales agent later admitted on WhatsApp that the card was issued by mistake while processing.

After escalation to RBI CMS and a long delay, I finally received a response on 24 November 2025, where BOB Financial accepted their lapse and has now offered ₹10,000 as compensation, as per “RBI advisory.” They have asked for my bank account details and a cancelled cheque for processing the amount.

I checked a few similar cases online and noticed that most customers also received around ₹10,000 compensation in such issues but they got reply early

Before I proceed, I wanted to know from experienced members here:

1. Is ₹10,000 a fair and standard compensation in such cases?

2. Has anyone here successfully negotiated for a higher amount in a similar situation?

3. Is it better to accept this now rather than dragging the case further

Hi,
It depends on the duration. Calculate Rs. 100 per day from the date the issue started until the date it is resolved.
I sent an email yesterday and today got an email from rbi closure letter that I refused the compensation.

But nowhere in my email to bobcard I wrote that I refused the compensation.

Any other way to escalate @TechnoFino

This is clear fraud done by bobcard
 
RBI complaint close hone ke baad ab doubt hi hai ki kuch kr sakte hai.
Rbi ne 10k approve krdia tha bobcard bank details mang raha tha. Toh maine mail bheja ki 8 months delay hua h toh uske hisab se aap do..

Toh in gadho ne rbi ko bola ki maine refused kia h. Abh inki lanka lagani padegi

RTI file krdo ki kis basis pe complaint close hua. Shayad koi response mile. Lekin doubt hi hai ki case reopen hoga.

Email BOB again and ask them to transfer the amount to your bank account. Also mention that you will appeal to the RBI if they don’t transfer the approved compensation amount.
