I am planning to reapply for the AU Ixigo Credit Card.
Last time I applied, I was rejected and had to wait 6 months to apply again.
The rejection message said my application was declined due to not meeting bureau norms. I mainly want this card because it has zero forex charges.
After checking and researching, I found these possible reasons for the rejection:
1. Total credit limits across all cards should be lower than the ITR filed.
2. High number of credit cards.
3. Physical address verification failure.
Points 1 and 2 apply to me, since I have many cards with high limits.
I already closed 2 ICICI credit cards to fix point 2. But for point 1, the customer care agent told me that if I reduce the credit limit through the ICICI app, it will also reflect in the bureau, even though my maximum eligible limit with the bank stays the same.
I want to confirm if this is true — does lowering the limit in the app really update the credit bureau limit, even if the bank’s max eligible limit for me stays unchanged?
Also, any other suggestions that could help me get approved this time would be appreciated.
