Might be useful or not i took appointment like woking up on sharp 3 AM and voila used to be lots of slots in coming weeks months so try your luck, Travel agents know this hence there was lots of rush had to do for like 2-3 nights as it was fastest fingerfirst same like we used to book vaccine slots. LOL.
if you are asking usa visa fees it used to be 160$ for b1/b2 but now since like 6-8 months they hiked it to 185$.
If you dont plan to go, they will not issue a visa to you.
Each visa officer has experience of taking thousands of interview, they can smell BS in the answer from a mile.
I would suggest you to be prepared in a way, that you actually want to go.

Not lucky time but did booked myself for my friend 6 months back researched for 2-3 days sharp 3:00 Am and got sucess.
