Need info on US visa B1/B2 slots

Tried today early morning 1.30am and then at 3am no luck it was same. Still the dates available are Nov 2025 only.

One question should I book first the available slot and then try rescheduling or should I wait n book?

Is it worth start trying for the US B1/B2 visa now to attend an event in US on 9th Nov 2024?

I can't go to any other country to get the US visa.

Absolutely possible appointment dates are more available then before !!
Thank you!

Also, how important is the consistency in name across documents?

Institute bonafide and NOC is going to have my name in SURNAME FIRST_NAME FATHER'S_NAME format, and all other documents like Passport, AADHAAR, PAN, Bank Passbook, Invitation Letter, etc. have my name in FIRST_NAME FATHER'S_NAME SURNAME format.

DS 160 is the most important document, Highly likely they will not even look at your documents.
All questions will be asked from what you fill in DS160.
but carry everything that you have, just in case if they ask for it.

This DS 160 is too lengthy and asking for too many details. Some details are not even possible to provide such as contact details of primary schools I studied at.

I get what you mean, even I just wrote year of passing my graduation, I had no clue about the date and all plus I had abbreviation for the college name and the visa. officer asked me so many question around it but cracked it eventually.

Does applying through an agent help in getting the visa sooner?

If yes, do you know any good agents?
No, usually agents charge anywhere between 20-40K for applications and appointment's.
best is you can apply and sit in front of system and keep checking for any sooner available slots
