Hey everyone!
I’m looking for advice on optimizing my credit card portfolio, as I feel I currently hold too many cards with overlapping benefits. Here’s a summary of my situation:
Cards I Currently Hold
1. HDFC Millennia Credit Card
Annual Fee: ₹1,190 (waived after ₹1 lakh spends).
Benefits: 5% cashback on Flipkart, Amazon, Myntra, Ola, Uber, etc., and 1% on other spends.
2. SBI Cashback Credit Card
Annual Fee: ₹1,190 (waived after ₹2 lakh spends).
Benefits: 5% cashback on all online spends (no merchant restrictions), excluding wallet reloads and utility/government spends.
3. SBI SimplyCLICK Credit Card
Annual Fee: ₹590 (waived after ₹1 lakh spends).
Benefits: Reward points (but none for transactions with instant discounts).
4. Axis Airtel Credit Card
Annual Fee: ₹590 (waived after ₹2 lakh spends).
Benefits:
25% cashback on Airtel recharges (₹250/month cap).
10% cashback on utilities, broadband, Zomato/Swiggy (₹250/month cap).
5. Axis Ace Credit Card
Annual Fee: ₹590 (waived after ₹2 lakh spends).
Benefits:
5% cashback on utilities, broadband, mobile recharges (₹500/month cap).
1.5% cashback on offline spends.
6. HDFC PixelPlay Credit Card
Annual Fee: ₹590 (waived after ₹1 lakh spends).
Benefits: 5% cashback on Nykaa, Myntra, Blinkit, and Reliance Smart (Blinkit isn’t available in my area, and I rarely shop at Reliance Smart).
---
Spending Habits
Online Spends: ₹60,000 annually).
Offline Spends: ~₹1–1.5 lakh annually.
Airtel Recharges: 4 connections, ₹579 each, recharged alternately (~₹1,158/month).
Utilities/Bills: ~₹3,000/month.
---
Planned Action
I’ve analyzed the benefits of these cards and concluded:
Keep:
Airtel Axis Credit Card: High cashback on Airtel recharges and utilities.
Axis Ace Credit Card: Great for utilities and offline spends.
SBI Cashback Credit Card: Best for general online shopping.
Close:
HDFC PixelPlay Credit Card: Limited usefulness given my rural location and spending pattern.
SBI SimplyCLICK Credit Card: Overlaps with SBI Cashback but offers less value.
HDFC Millennia Credit Card: Merchant restrictions make it less versatile than SBI Cashback.
---
Would you agree with this strategy, or do you see any gaps? I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions!
