New card rejected due to add on card

I applied axis card for my mother. But it has been rejected as , I took add on card on my mother name. ( same card axis flipkart ) .
Need suggestion.
1. Should I close the card and apply the card on my mother name. Does there any probability of getting the card immediately or does there an6 cool down period ?
2. Is This logic applicable for all the banks.?

Axis does not give two cards of same type on single PAN card.

Close the add on card and then apply for fresh card. It will be issued based on cibil Profile.

This is applicable to all banks. They dont give if the varient is same. But you can get diffrent varient

No bank allows you to hold the 2 card of same variant, irrespective of primary/add on /floater. Some bank even don't allow to give 2 add on cards of different variant.

When I asked hdfc, they said I can get only 1 add on for my sister either millenia (through me) or RG( through mother).
