Axis Atlas No more edge miles on rent?

Hello, I received edge miles for the transaction I did on 1 Oct. I payed via payzapp+redgirraffe But I did not recently (31 Oct) so I called Axis and they told me rent is excluded from miles. I told them to refer to my last month and also check your TnC pdf after which they told me rent is excluded from milestone as well as normal edge miles. I wrote an email to Nodal
Let’s see
Anyone facing the same ?

I got a reply from PNO -

"We would like to inform you that as per our records mentioned transactions fall under MCC (Merchant category code) code is 6513 not eligible for the Edge Reward Points hence no Points are reflected for the same.

01/11/2023 31/10/2023 PZRENT NON BBPS, MUMBAI 26,120.00 DB

Further, the same has been mentioned in the terms and conditions.

Note: Spends threshold for Milestone benefits will exclude rent and wallet transactions. The Merchant Category Code of Rent is 6513 and Wallet is 6540. The revision is effective from 5th March 2023."

I have replied back saying the mentioned TnC is applicable only for milestone benefits and not for 2 miles for other spends. Also, I attached these 2 pics.
Note that they mentioned "Edge Reward Points". That is correct, but only that Atlas card has Edge Miles and not Points. They probably didn't take that little detail into account before checking and replying 😂. Probably didn't realise you were asking about Atlas!

Even the PNO staff at Axis seem to be no better than the rest. Often we know more about their products than they themselves!

I again got the same reply from PNO.
They have mentioned my credit card number and attached Atlas TnC (the 8-page doc) as well so I think they must be aware of the card type.
I have replied again this time saying-

"Sir/Ma'am, The note as you mentioned in the terms and conditions pdf, says rent is excluded from the milestone benefits of Atlas credit card. It is under "Milestone Benefit:" on page number 4
As you can check page number 3 under "2 EDGE Miles on Other Spends:" It does not say the rent mcc is excluded from the normal reward of 2 miles per 100 spent."
I guess there are still misunderstandings, I am not talking about milestone benefits here. So this note is not applicable to my concern.

I am talking about normal spending benefits of 2 miles per 100 spent.
Also, the link you are mentioning does not say rent mcc is excluded from normal spend miles. I request you to please go through it again take your time and understand my concern.
Failing which I might have to escalate to level 4. I request you not to send me the same reply again until you mention your point in any document.
You can also check the image I have attached for your reference.
Please feel free to call me so that we can discuss it neatly.
Thank you"

I don't know how much can i make them understand.
Let's see what they reply.

I used educational payment on Redgiraffe + Payzapp. Still rent mcc was used by Payzapp and no points.
Then don't use Redgirrafe
I have always paid high convenience fees (on other apps) just because wrong MCC (or the right one here) won't be tagged and i make eligible spends.

I think most people who pay genuinely pay rent through CC are mostly looking to complete milestone and not RP accrual but everyone to their own.

Can you suggest good apps for education payment?

Please DM or let us know some apps for rent payment to make eligible milestone benefits.

I made a rent payment on 22 November 2023 through Paytm and edge miles was credited yesterday (November 23). May be you can check with Axis customer care for the MCC code of the rental transaction?? Around May or June, i tried paying credit card bill using Axis ace credit card via Mobikwik and got cashback as the MCC was utility. This month i checked paying credit card bill (first with a small amount to check if it is working) via Atlas credit card. I can see the amount added to spend counter but no edge miles. So Mobikwik have changed MCC from utility to wallet reload, as they did for credit card bill payment via HDFC platinum debit card. perhaps the app that you used have changed their MCC code from rent to wallet and that is why customer care is giving a response it is not eligible for EM?

p.s: I am sure Paytm used rent MCC for my transaction because in my statement i can see the rent transaction fee plus GST which is levied by Axis. But still, i do not understand how @rogerthat did not get EM while paying through Paytm.

Hello, I did via PayZapp + redgiraffe
Even it has rent MCC as I have been changed 1% and gst on my cc and even customer care confirmed its rent.
The reply I’m getting from axis nodal as well as PNO is that rent is excluded from edge mile as you can check in the above reply from them

I got a reply from PNO -

"We would like to inform you that as per our records mentioned transactions fall under MCC (Merchant category code) code is 6513 not eligible for the Edge Reward Points hence no Points are reflected for the same.

I got the following reply-

We would like to inform you that as per update received from our concern team the below mentioned transaction is not eligible for the Edge Reward Points. Hence, no points are reflecting for the same:

The Bank’s stand in the matter, as conveyed above, has been reviewed by the Bank's Internal Ombudsman and has his concurrence.

And they sending me the atlas pdf to refer
I have replied very firmly this time

I never tried redgiraffe before. The only apps I have used so far is Paytm, bharatnxt and CRED, based on offers these apps provide. I will test with bharatnxt on December 01 when i pay my sister's rent and CRED on 20 th December for mine. And will update here if I get EM.

UPDATE: I spoke to Customer Care and surprise, surprise, they said my rental transaction is indeed eligible for Edge Miles. And then they also said that for this particular transaction I need to wait for exactly 12 days for the Edge Miles to be credited, even if I already have received the miles for transactions done post the rent one. Also, the rent transaction is filed under "Miscellaneous" in the statement.

Will wait until the 25th, and will escalate to PNO if I haven't received the Miles until that day evening.
in whicht app have you made rent payment

Yeah it is strange, I made it through PayTM too. And I was charged 1% that clearly says "Rent Transaction Fee". And CC said I am eligible for Edge Miles too. Everything is fine, but no Edge Miles.

I am now writing an email to the PNO.
