NTB to HDFC - Need advice for Card 2 Card method for obtaining HDFC credit card.

Hello TFians, I have learnt a lot in the past few months on this portal, and I am really grateful to all the members of the community. I need some advice now. As the title suggests, I am new to HDFC bank. I have never had any banking relationship with the bank. Now after having learnt of C2C method on this portal, I feel I am ready to use the same to obtain an HDFC bank credit card which is Life time free. Here are my details :

Existing cards suitable for C2C (I have many cards from banks such as Standard Chartered, HSBC, AU, Axis, Bank of Baroda etc but their limit is less than 5 L, so giving details of those cards that have existing limit more than 5L):

IndusInd Bank Visa Platinum(LTF): 5 L Limit (7 M old)
ICICI Apay (LTF): 5.2 L Limit (4 Y old)
Federal Celesta(LTF): 6.24 L Limit (1 M old).

In-hand salary : 1.3L per month.

Primary spends: Online and offline retail, Grocery, occasional Swiggy/Zomato and BMS, utilities etc. Not very high spends.

Queries :

(1) Which of these existing cards would be most suitable for helping obtain the best possible LTF HDFC credit card?

(2) Which LTF HDFC credit card do you think is most suitable for me at this point of time (I'm not much into reward points and their airmile/hotel conversion/redemption, but wouldn't mind such a card if offered LTF and my cashback needs are met by other cashback cards such as ICICI Apay)?

(3) Which LTF HDFC credit card should I actually try negotiating for and which card should I realistically expect? This will help in finally settling the negotiation.

(4) What's the best way to go about the C2C process that will help me get the best possible LTF HDFC credit card without fearing rejection or other complications?

CIBIL more than 790, credit utilisation always remains below 5%, all on-time payments, no defaults, no loans so far. I live in a tier-1 city, so no issues of serviceable pincodes. I have a salary account in a Goverment bank, and I'm not in a position to shift this salary account to HDFC or any other bank at this point of time. At the cost of repetition, let me mention that I want only LTF HDFC credit card. Not interested in paid ones or spend-based waiver cards.

Any and all suggestions/advice are welcome. I appreciate all the comments and all are, in one way or the other, helpful to me and other fellow members. Thank you in advance.

Thanx for the response. I'll keep that in mind. BTW, which card is considered more premium/better in terms of rewards and their redemption/conversion? Regalia Gold or DCP/DCB? I'm a little confused between all these cards? Can you please show the hierarchy of HDFC cards? Is it like this: Money back (and similar types) > Millennia > Regalia > Regalia Gold > DCP > DCB > Infinia...?

As such getting card to card on HDFC is not a routine way so it’s difficult,
The other difficult thing is to get any LTF cards, you may get co branded and lower variant card pre approved LTF but for Reg Gold and Higher becomes quite difficult

But you can get FYF/Paid Reg Gold on your salary relatively easily

my suggestion would be to get higher card fyf make spends greater than annual fee waiver and ask them to convert card ltf(they might say it's not possible and so, just keep pushing) getting a lower end card and hoping for upgrade to higher end with ltf would be very and i stress very hard.

If instead of Regalia Gold the bank offers you Millennia LTF, then take it. That's also a good entry point in HDFC CC ecosystem.
I am actually confused between Millennia and Regalia Gold. For my spend pattern (online and offline retail, grocery and occasional movies - not very high spends), which one would be better? (Of course this is assuming that they will offer Regalia).

How is simple regalia or DCP in comparison to Millennia?
I think simple Regalia is not offered anymore. Millennia is a simple cashback card for low to medium spenders (less than 20k pm). For high spenders DCP or Regalia Gold would be better.
Just try applying online by yourself and see which card they offer you. If you like any card that they offer, you would get Rs 1500 voucher and FYF card for applying online.

For a closer comparison you can check other threads in the forum for each card.
If you have lesser spends in a year (around 2-3L), stick with Millennia LTF.
If spends are more, and possibly increasing in future, try to get Regalia Gold LTF, and so you can aim for higher cards in future.

Inam in the same boat as OP however my net salary after all emi is around 70k.

Have around 4 credit cards of ICICI apay - limit 8.90 lakhs, idibi wealth - 8.00 lakhs, amex MRCc - 2.68 lakhs and amex gold card.

Was looking to consolidate all expenses on single card as it's becoming too cumbersome to pick and choose which card to spen on as well as monthly transactions for amex.

I do have a savings max ac that I opened recently however salary cannot be shifted as my org is not willing to do that.

Was looking for regalia gold as a best possible for however wanted to know If I would be eligible for the same or not.

You can Reg gold if your gross is over 1L per month, deductions and emi doesn't matter

But its only given FYF on corporate tie-ups now
I see, i spoke to my cousin brother's HDFC relationship manager few months back, he told me that abive 1L gross is eligible for Reg Gold

But my bother works for JSW Steel and he has a salary account, so maybe there's a corporate tie up I'm not aware of

The policy changed in April I guess. Did you speak to them before April?
