Got this email today. Seems HSBC is upgrading the Visa Platinum Card and may make it similar to Cashback in coming months. There is a condition to spend 15000 in the month.

Also 1.5% cash back on other spends.

It's quite similar to cash back card but
Min spend : 15000

If you have spends in offline dining (non swgy dnout, ezdner etc. places), food delivery & grocery spends, go for it.

hsbc usually gives link and upon clicking will show page 'you're registered' thats it, take screenshot and start spending.

links usually personalized because it won't ask any inputs, it just say your consent recorded or registration successful like that. If not received, check with support they'll forward that URL to you.

Note: spends must be done after consent, so call first and get URL.

Slightly off topic, but I recently got the HSBC platinum card with a welcome privilege of a Rs.500 voucher on a minimum spend of Rs.5000 within 30 days of issuance. What type of spends will qualify for this benefit? Would a GV purchase be eligible?

They take around 7-10 working days.

Damn. I applied it solely to get the prebook offer for the bryan adams concert. Any chance that it is completed sooner? Also, do they do any physical verification?

Physical verification depends on several factors, including location, type of employment, history etc. Can't say for certain.

Completed sooner, again, various factors. I know some who got it within 5 days, not working, but 5 days entirely. That was a couple of years ago, though. Nowadays, 7 working days is what I generally see.
