Opening bank account at new address

Hi TF community
My gf is moving to a new pincode as a resident , and the institution needs a bank account for salary credit with current address ( weird govt rules )

Changing address in Adhar card is a tall ask itself.
-No rent agreement ( bcoz of govt accommodation)
-No postpaid either( jio , Airtel rejected applications)
- no other bills either( water ,electricity)

What she have - institution ID , allotment letter , all medical degrees of adress in current pincode

Is there any bank that would entertain our request n open a bank account?

I guess all the banks will go as per aadhaar address itself

Call idfc at
180010888.
Option 2 is account related query

It will be directly connected to agent .
Say u r interested in account opening 25 k mab

Tell them ur current address pincode
They will ask you which banch choose nearby .

U will get call from branch executive.( 4-5 PPL may call depending on branch)
Tell them your address ( current) and ask them to visit
They will come home & open account


No current address proof required
Just give current address of yours as current address.





Btw which college residents?

If she is provided with a govt accomodation, then a allotment letter will be there. That will serve as address proof to update Aadhaar and other places.
Alternatively, the competent authority in institute can issue a letter that she has been allotted accomodation with address details. That will suffice.

Sometimes bank can also consider your request if somebody of that location provide his identity.

For example:
Assume your gf address in aadhar is of Kolkata and she wants to open account in Delhi .
Then a person living in Delhi for example you or somebody else whos address in aadhar is of Delhi can act as a guarantor of your gf by showing his aadhar card

This worked in case with bank of baroda.
You can try with other banks .

Why to use this much brain when u can give literally any address in. India while account opening without giving proof

Hi, since she lives in govt. accommodation, I assume either she works for govt. organization or her parents work in govt organization. Go to Google and search for "aadhar supported documents". You will find a UIDAI link. Download the pdf file and check the page-10. On page 10 there will be a form that she can fill and get it attested by class-1 or class-2 gazetted officer. The same is accepted widely for AADHAR address update. I have attached the file and link with my reply but as we are in a financial forum, clicking on link shared by an unknown person is never advised.

You can open bank account in any bank in India with any address of your choice.

They just ask you to sign on a declaration form while opening account

Or change in existing account with biometric verification and declaration

She is pg student so she lives in hostel in the college.
So not like a gov quater

She can still get the form attested by the dean of the institute. I read in comments that she got admission in KGMU, Lko. It's a big college and it should have a bank branch inside the campus. If there is a bank inside the campus then a bonafide certificate issued on the letter head of the college should work as a local address proof.

You have to understand that we talking about resident pg doc ( as student ) not Civil surgeon.

They don't have respect.
Nurses have better respect.

The doc u meet is 10 -15 year after graduation not one freshly graduated

I don't know what do you understand by the bonafide certificate. Here is what I meant, bonafide cerificate is simply a document issued on the letter head on the college duly attested. It says that as per records of the college Mr/Mrs XYX son/daughter of Mr/Mrs ABC is bonafide student of the college and resides in the following address as per the college records. This was the certificate issued to me by my tier-3 engineering college which I submitted in the bank branch in my college campus and got my account opened some 10yrs ago.
So where does the respect thing came into this? Can't a student get a form attested from the head of the institution?

A Bonafide certificate is a certificate issued by an organisation to certify that a particular person belongs to that organisation. Usually, educational institutions issue this certificate to its students. Companies may also do so for their employees.

Actually it was the first approach , but it doomed coz
First - campus has allahabad bank, worst employees ever( tbh It doesn't provide any benefits)
Second - power is concentrated high in hierarchy.
Everything is neat n clean with papers, so even getting a sign is huge task.

Eg - Chancellor is Anandiben patel.
