DCB Paid DCB Metal Journey

Hi folks!

I wanted to share my journey to the paid DCB Metal card so that anyone interested may also get it this way.

I had a times prime credit card with HDFC that I closed 3 years back as it was useless. I wanted to get a premium HDFC credit card last year so thought of applying online and it only gave me basic options so I thought I will upgrade it later on and got myself IOCL credit card. I was shocked to receive just 1 lac limit on the credit card so I reached out to the customer care and they said they can't do anything about it as it is just issued. They asked me to come back after 6 months. I waited for 6 months and again reached out to PNO. They asked for documents and I sent via email and offered me a 3.2 Lacs limit. I denied since I needed 5 lacs and immediately closed my credit card. Meanwhile I opened a savings account in HDFC and upgraded to classic banking in hopes of getting pre-approved credit card offers but there were none. I asked the BM and he said you need 1.75 lacs salary credit which I don't have(i have 1.3) and offered me Regalia Gold. I still went ahead and tried to apply online but this time I was getting DCB so went ahead. After 3 days I got rejection. They offered me Regalia Gold via email, I didn't accept. For straight 2 months I was getting Regalia gold as pre-approved in my netbanking with a 5.16 limit. I kept ignoring it and eventually i saw DCB in the offer and I applied again and in 8 minutes my application was approved. I got the card in mail after 4 days.

I went for DCB only as that is the gateway for Infinia in future.

But the joining benefits have no real cash value and you will not be able to recover the joining fee paid
I know but I wanted to get this card for future upgrade to Infinia and I can't get it FYF so have to pay the fees. I'm looking to get the quarterly benefit 1-2 times during the year to get the value back.

You will need to have a limit more than 8 lakhs and spends more than 7.5 lakhs in the previous 6 months to even think of applying for Infinia.

Better to directly apply for Infinia with income tax returns of rs 45 lakhs plus, at any branch.

how should i make an income tax of 45 lacs with 1.3 lac per month salary?
this one I am referring. DCB shown for you when you tried to apply online ? but still rejected ?
yes, it was available to select while applying online and it was still rejected.

that's the plan

sir sir sir ... pls batao how much you maintained and for how much months and what type of transactions you did
I kept about 7-8 lacs for 2-3 months then it was reduced to 1-2 lacs and since the last month i'm not even maintaining 1 lac. I do get my salary in this account but it is not a salary account since my company isn't listed with them

So, you got a DCB Metal preapproved due to you maintaining 7-8L for a few months and depositing roughly 1.5L each month. How long from your account being opened to getting the DCB offer and how much on average you were spending each month? I am planning to employ the same strategy to get DCB so any help will be very appreciated. Can you tell me more about your CC portfolio and history?

-> Account opened in Aug 2023.
-> Deposit 1.3 and withdrawal also around 1.1 - 1.3 every month
-> I have around 10-12 other CC ranging from amex/axis/icici/kotak/sbi/indusind/hsbc with 9+ years history overall and had max limit of 5.1 and now 5.16 is max of dcb

How long did you maintain the 7-8L in this account for and how long were you receiving your salary in this account? How many months since you started maintaining 7-8L until you got the DCB offer.

I don't think maintaining funds in an account has anything to do with getting super premium credit cards. Even if you are an Imperia customer, it is highly unlikely you would be offered DCB or Infinia based on your savings or FD account balance.

HDFC algorithm acts as a lottery for new customers. This is what has happened with OP.

To get DCB or Infinia based on relationship value, you have to seek manual approval through your RM. By putting funds in account and waiting for a miracle to happen, it might take you another 10 years, before DCB becomes MoneyBack of that Era.

check my post history, there have been multiple people who maintained over 7-8L in their accounts for a few months and got pre-approved DCB.
