Paying income tax using credit card

is there limit on the tax amount that can be paid using credit card. I tried to pay 45k tax using ICICI credit card Ap . And it got cancelled and withheld . The customer care person told there is 20k limit for transaction on itd. Is it same for all credit card?

Yes, very helpful in this tax season 😁
But can get outdated quickly with all the devaluations.

It would be nice if you could add the capping also in tax section within brackets if you have time. That will help people determine which suits them.

Information about Govt payments using SBI Cashback and ICICI Amazon Pay is wrong. I think SBI Cashback no longer gives 1% for tax payment and Apay card I personally experienced not giving any cashback.

payment gateway charges + gst dont remmebr the exact amount it is less than 1%

Use Canara bank gateway to pay using credit card. Additional charge 0.47%.
e.g. if you pay Rs. 5000/- tax, you will be charged total Rs. 5027.88/-

Sbi gateway only supports upi and netbanking. No cards

I used Kiwi to get 2% Cashback (only if waitlisted user, otherwise 1%) for Income Tax Payments.
Tried with SBI Gateway but didn't get any rewards, then tried Kotak Gateway and scanned the QR that they provided, Got 2% cashback and no additional fees 😉

ssume 70 lakhs as 30% being in the highest tax slab and take the total income 10-20% above it as education cess and other charges would make his tax rate effectively 40%
