You'll need to be firm in asking (sometimes not just once) : I want to pay using amex card only and mention them clearly stating the link provided by hdfc ergo doesn't support amex.

True. I only asked politely.
I also mentioned the absolutely ducking high premium this year.
I will just port out next year in August to another insurer who has sane premiums and support Amazon wallet.

update :

To pay HDFC ergo premium using Amex cards or amazon pay balance mail cgo@hdfcergo.com stating you want to pay premium amount using Amex card only, they share razorpay link which supports them. Post transaction completion, mail them transaction reference number then company will share your policy copy.
