Hi, this is a basic information post regarding payment of credit card bill through CRED app.

Many people believe that payment of credit card bills through CRED app is instant or maximum it will take 24 hours for payment to reflect in credit card. But it is not 100% true.

I had done payment on Amazon pay ICICI credit card on 2nd Jan at 9:15 pm through UPI and more than 36 hours had passed, it is to deposit in the card. On cred app, initially it was showing that it is expected to be deposit in card within 24 hours but now it is showing expected deposit to card is 05 Jan. I have raised a ticket through CRED app. I have got my lesson that I will stop using these unreliable 3rd party apps or will do payment a week before.

My due date is 5th Jan and amount is 7000 so I can afford to wait till today's evening. If not credited, I will again do payment through ICICI imobile app. Let the amount be double credited. So my suggestion is do payment a week before and never depend on any 3rd party apps for instant payments.

My payments towards ICICI cards are settled instantly.

BTW if you want to use such apps, pay the bill on bill generation date itself atleast that's what I always follow so that even if there's any kind of failure I have enough timeframe to get it corrected.

It is always recommend to make payment before a week from the due date. Sometimes payments might fail. It's better to pay earlier to avoid any issues happen with third party apps.

I understand it is always advisable to pay credit card bills instantly after bill generation date but sometime there are other factors such as salary not credited, need to maintain minimum balance in some bank account on 1st of every month, etc, due to which payment to credit card get delayed.

I will change the billing date of my credit card to further avoid further these issues.

My concern is this so called instant credit to card overhyped by CRED.

You can try Paytm or refer below link for other options which is reliable

I think it’s a rare case, mostly for icici cc , payment is credited within 2 hours of payment

But yeah , it’s good to pay in advance just to be sure , also I think as per RBI policy if there is a delay due to payment processing at bank ends then banks can’t mention it to Cibil as late payment , also as per new RBI policy even after due date there is some grace period that banks need to give prior to mentioning it to credit bureau

I normally use CRED to pay bill and my experience it is reliable and instant from CRED side since it use IMPS instead of NEFT. Some of my cards show instant update of payments and some cards show delay of 24 to 48 hours.

So, it's my understanding this delay is on Bank side not from CRED side.

This type of case is once in few hundreds. This is because of bank settlement, not from CRED. Specially ICICI Bank payments are instant.
So I would suggest Don't judge it based on only one payment failure. You should see the ratio of successful vs unsuccessful payments to come to a decision.

Thanks but I will pay this month CC bill today through IMOBILE from my ICICI savings account. Due date is tomorrow. In case any payment fail problem, I can justify within bank problem.

For me, Amazon Pay took the longest time for settlement. Cred & Paytm were instant. Also payment options are very limited in it. No offer as well.
For me payment settlement is important. I don't really care about offers for credit card repayment. The credit cards i have, are settled almost instantly.

Amazon takes at least 2 days for settlement whenever I paid. Cred payments are sometimes instant and sometimes delayed. Paytm settled on same day. PayZapp takes to settle 2 days and hdfc bill pay does not have any timing. It may take upto 7 days 😀

Yes, the only one thing they're supposed to actually do and they cant even get that right.

All they're focused on is increasing their "app engagement time" and other metrics they market to investors and advertisers. That's why they have those stupid slot machine games etc that eat up all your time and rack up user engagement times on their Google play stats.

No cred is good they settle amount instantly but banks reflect it late buy your payment date on reflection will be the same date you paid same thing happened with me too but don't worry

when you have bamking channels like HDFC and Axis bank who has lucrative rewards structure of 1% cashback on bill repayment why even borther using such third party apps which gives no benifits to us at all
