Payzapp + Red Girraffe MCC Patched

Payzapp has corrected the MCC for rent transactions done on Red Girraffe. I did a transaction yesterday and the merchant name is reflected as PZRENT. The transaction got settled today and Axis has charged a 1% rent surcharge + GST as well. So it’s no longer reflected as a utility transaction

During application they had asked me current card, I had mentioned DCB and they had given me Wealth card. You can also try what @sousnake mentioned.

How old was your DCB & what limit it had ?

Yes card rent fee is avoided but there are very less reward point or milestone benefits. Few cards give 1% cashback or sbi vistara prime give milestone benefit but you will pay redgiraffe around 0.49% fees. You need to see if remaining rewards or vistara flights are worth your efforts or not !!

There is axis atlas which gives you reward points on rent pay (not on wallet load) but charges 1%+gst and no milestone benefits. But here as well you need to see if you will need miles. If yes, then this is better card when you convert your miles.

Then there is standard chartered ultimate which gives 3.3% rewards on wallet load but those rewards are redeemable on their catalog only, which doesn’t make sense now as they have removed most of the good flights/hotels/shopping vouchers. I closed it already.

Just for info…ITC, Taj and Marriott vouchers are back in stock for SC Ultimate redemption

Also, you can earn 3% on HSBC Premier for Wallet Loads…

Payzapp wallet addition through IDFC cards mostly declines everytime. It's likely that this merchant is blocked by idfc.

Just added my IDFC Wealth card in PayZapp. They deducted Rs. 2 successfully to register the card. If Rs. 2 went through, surely more should go through right?

I was able to add in the past. There is no rule that idfc declines

What would the definition of heavy be though? If in one month, one puts around 20-25k in wallet of PayZapp and then do genuine payments using the same, what would be the issue?

There's no issue on your side. You are loyal that you know, not the front bank knows. IDFC detects repeated transactions like 10K-10K (2-3 times), or a good transaction like 20-30K in one go for wallet mcc.
These transactions get declined.

Try and experience and even enlighten us as well.

Will definitely try and update. However, now that chance will come in April 24, and who knows what all would have happened by then. 😂
