Payzapp + Red Girraffe MCC Patched

Payzapp has corrected the MCC for rent transactions done on Red Girraffe. I did a transaction yesterday and the merchant name is reflected as PZRENT. The transaction got settled today and Axis has charged a 1% rent surcharge + GST as well. So it’s no longer reflected as a utility transaction

Hi Everyone,

On this payzapp rent pay, wont it better idea to load payzapp wallet first with amount equal to rent + redgirrafe conv. charges and then use wallet balance to pay rent?

With this we can avoid rent conv. charges levied by bank and also use the credit card which gives rewards point on wallet spends like IDFC Cards, Amazonpay card or BoB Cards? Or may use cards which don't exclude wallet txn from milestone

AFAIK, you can't pay rent using wallet money.

If you are pointing towards wallet to bank account transfers,then most of app are incurring additinal changes, which are higher than Redgirraffe fees.

I have paid rent via payzapp (with redgirrafe Id) after loading payzapp wallet with IDFC select credit card till first week of this month

Dont know if it is changed after that

Ah it failed while making payment. I was able to add the card details (it gives a warning card cannot be saved). While sending OTP, I think it failed - didn’t receive OTP.

Had checked only till the step of adding card details last time, so thought it will work at next step too.

Also, this was for wallet load. For rent I can see that it doesn’t allow me to add this card - says unknown card.

I am confused.

You are saying, you added money into payzapp wallet.
Then from Payzapp wallet you paid to landlord via account transfer.
Or while paying rent, Payzapp ask you about 'Payment method', there you have selected Payzapp wallet? Normally I select Credit card here.

2nd option

After adding money, went to rent payment section fetched bill with redgirrafe ID then selected payment via payzapp balance on payment options page
It only works if you have payzapp balance greater than your redgirrafe bill amount ( rent + conv. charges)

There is no benefit by doing this, as it will count in Wallet Loading in MCC code. It won't count for Milestone benefit or Rewards

Just noticed that Axis Bank has changed the classification of Payzapp Redgiraffe transactions from "PAYZAPP BIL" to "PZRENT NON", after paying rent on my VI. I think we might stop getting points/milestone count on even Payzapp Redgiraffe transactions from now on.
