Long story:
I purchased Amazon Prime from MagicPin as I saw 15% off there today. I forgot I have 100 balance in prime account.
I tried redeeming 1499 GC but failed. So I immediately came here. Searched for same error and got this thread.
First few posts and I started disappointing and blaming why I purchased 1499 without gathering some info about how Prime GC addition and redemption works currently. Before that I also called Amazon CS but they said I can add after my current membership expires. I was even ready to loose this 100 balance and asked to expire it but they said they can't find expiry of balance.
This thing also wonder me why Amazon does not show expiry of balance for vouchers.
Finally the post came with link from @helloworld to utilize 100 balance ( have to order 2 items 130/-) but its better to have 1499 GC redeemed in my account than waiting for any resolution for this 100 prime balance. I ordered those money evelopes and got my 1499 GC also added 🙂
Really those of us who experienced this thing need to make aware to other forum members whenever Prime GC discussion comes to ensure utilize existing Prime balance first or do not purchase 1499 GC.

i have 150 x 2/4 swiggy one received two 150 voucher today itself. so not sure if would exchange them for something else though. rather just donate via profile post i feel that would be better use.

My amazon prime membership is getting expired on July 15th however I've just redeemed SBI rupay platinum OTT and got 12 months membership and its stated - cant use the code if I'm having active prime membership and coupon is valid only for 30 days. I thought I can simply stack the vouchers and it shall get activated once previous membership gets expired. Can anyone suggest a workaround? I need amazon prime membership. Thanks

If you have an existing subscription, please apply the code to a new Prime account or wait for the current subscription to expire before applying the prime code. If you apply the code to an account which already has a running subscription, the coupon code will not work and cannot be reused.

Now it's 1799, previously it was 1499.
Don't worry, your ₹1499 Prime balance is safely stored in your Amazon account. It remains valid for one year from the date of addition and can be used after your existing membership expires.
before adding 30 days, once added 365 days.
