Isn't that like saying we should use no UPI, no credit card, no debit card. Even they have enough frauds. Fraud around UPI is way higher than fraud around gift vouchers.

Fraud may happen in every field of life in every way possible. We can't hide from them. Or can't give excuses to not using them. Travel cards and gifts are irreplaceable instruments and high rewarding too. So we have to use these.

This is not an isolated case—many people are reporting the same issue. In fact, there is a group of over 20 victims.
Therefore, the possibility of an email hack is almost zero.

I believe this is with Intermiles only, I had purchased Amazon vouchers from Gyftr at the same time and they did work fine. So looks like only Intermiles vouchers have been compromised.

If it's with intermiles only, then either there is data breach or they had issued same vouchers again to someone else

many other portals too stopped AGVs like idfc rewards. Seems some internal action is going on at amazon and lets hope this will end soon

People would keep the vouchers purchased and not add them to Amazon as Amazon can also freeze your AZ pay account citing some reasons and then your entire amount could be lost. (Exact details can be given by @SSV )
There is a fear on both the sides then... To redeem or to not redeem...

Idian Amazon Customer Support is extremely Bogusss If you're stuck, try contacting UK Customer Care they're far better. I struggled with Indian support for 5 years, but the UK team solved my issues immediately and promised to resolve others within 24-48 hours. You should contact them to get details about AGV redeemed.
