My bro has a 25k MAB account in RBL with Pinnacle debit card. He wanted to close it as he doesn't use this account much and so doesn't want to keep 25k lying in an account. I advised him to downgrade it to 5k MAB account with Signature+/Enterprise debit card. He went to the branch, they said they can downgrade it to 10k MAB account but they are refusing to convert it to 5k MAB variant saying it can't be done. Is there a way to convert to 5k account? If it can't be done then alternatively, can he close his account and open a new 5k MAB account?

They never even admit 2.5k mab classic account even exists downgrade to dur ki baat hai . Maine pno tak mail dal di thi bas rbi ka bamboo nahi kiya. Left it because I already had 5k mab digital account.
