Guys it's overall 5K expenditure in a month or single transaction of 5K? Think best use would to get fuel worth 4K (as you get surcharge waiver only once and Max limit is 4K) and other spends of 1K.

An update for those of you holding the Play Card -

^Qualifying purchase value for the monthly benefit shall be exclusive of all transactions made on petrol (9752, 5541, 5983, 5172, 5542), rental (6513), wallet (6540), insurance (6300, 5960), utilities (4900) and government services (9399, 9402, 9405) w.e.f. October 09, 2023

I was planning to apply this card but with so many exclusions I don't think I would be able to spend 5k on this.

I have a doubt here, I got this card couple of months back, when I applied no superstar status in BMS, but after got the card now am superstar status, will I be charged for annual fee or not? BMS customer care told I have be a superstar member during application apply, otherwise annual fee charged for the year.

Anyone confirm this?

yes if you aren't SS member- then you will be charged Rs. 590 as JF. If you are, you won't be charged.
