RBL shoprite card mis-selling --- need help

TF Ace
Hi All,

I received a call from RBL agent, and she claimed I'm eligible for RBL World Safari LTF and if I would like to apply.

I said yes, and shared PAN no, name, address & DoB. I received email saying I applied for shoprite with annual fee of 500/-

And she denied saying safari, but its shoprite. I said I have it in recording but then she changed her word that since I was looking for LTF, she changed it to shoprite as she couldn't provide world LTF.

What should I do? shall I do KYC and receive the card and active only if its LTF?
Or escalate to bank & stuff and any chance of getting World Safari LTF? Please suggest best way to handle it.

Email I received.

do update whatever you end up doing.

My advice would be to Mail and Escalate and go till RBI Ombudsman, if you were unaware about Shoprite until getting it. If you did KYC after knowing that it is going to be Shoprite then I'm out of words.
I did get to know that it was shoprite cuz I received email immediately after agent applied.

I still did kyc cuz I had no RBL card and LTF one would be good for deals. Already had a cibil hit, so I wouldn't gain anything out of declining the kyc/card.
SO wanted to take the card & then escalate asking for world safari.

I'm in process of another card which provides me with 0% markup, so I dont really mind if they dont give me world safari also

So I got a call today that my RBL Shoprite is accepted, but if I'm willing, they are ready to upgrade me to ICON.

He also confirmed that shoprite is a paid card for me & not LTF.

What are my options here...
1. Can I raise issue to RBL bank & then to RBI Ombudsman & fight it out?
2. any other options, need suggestions

I'm facing a problem.

When Is end email to RBL back, they send automated response as e-mail id is not registered with them, please send from registered email ID.
When I call them to make complaint on 1800 102 6222, they are unable to verify me cuz they dont find my mobile no nor email in their system.

How shall I proceed?
Any other way to escalate it?

I did speak with the agent who applied for this card, she simply denies any misselling, asking me to reject card delivery... I want to make her pay for her fraud.

Wait for 5-7 days.
If it doesn't work- directly mail to pno- then md desk. (Someone who has better idea, can comment and recommend OP).

If it doesn't work- directly RBI.
Go step by step. If they reply, give them some time to finish what they can do.

If you don't want shoprite, don't activate it meanwhile.

I received the card.

Been 18 days since complaint, so far only receiving standard response that dedicated team is working on my issue. I sent email to PNO with whatsapp message screenshots & didn't share recorded call.

I spoke with PNO & they confirmed that even ShopRite is chargeable & not LTF. I demanded to maintain status quo, LTF world safari but they didn't confirm anything.

So I choose not to activate the card.

I'm not sure if PNO will even solve my issue.

Since you are not getting resolution from PNO, there are a couple of things you can do before going to RBI Ombudsman.
Put up a post on social media, tagging RBL Bank, also use their FB page and post a couple of comments and also DM them.
Besides that, email the CEO desk with the details, can even provide the call recording.
ceo@rblbank.com

RBL deals have gone down of late, if they aren't providing Shopright LTF, think you should consider closing the card as it is unlikely to offer much value. The recently facelifted Monthly Treats can be a better option if you have Zomato/Uber/Myntra/BMS spends regularly.

I did send an Email to CEO and someone else who is in middle of PNO and CEO. Did Twitter tagging as well.

Not sure if it will make any difference.

Is it safe to leave this card unactivated? Or call I call customer care and cancel it.

Calling CC and asking for cancelation may have the benefit of prompting them to act and try and resolve the issue. Even if it doesn't happen, the card can be closed and things be done and dusted.

I had some difficulty with reward point credit and cashback credit on Monthlytreats earlier, and didn't get resolution from even PNO. Mailed the CEO desk, got call in 2 days and the cashback was credited the next day. Even the reward points were credited, though the issue of undercrediting RPs still remain on the card.
