RBL shoprite card mis-selling --- need help

Hi All,

I received a call from RBL agent, and she claimed I'm eligible for RBL World Safari LTF and if I would like to apply.

I said yes, and shared PAN no, name, address & DoB. I received email saying I applied for shoprite with annual fee of 500/-

And she denied saying safari, but its shoprite. I said I have it in recording but then she changed her word that since I was looking for LTF, she changed it to shoprite as she couldn't provide world LTF.

What should I do? shall I do KYC and receive the card and active only if its LTF?
Or escalate to bank & stuff and any chance of getting World Safari LTF? Please suggest best way to handle it.

I received below email, Looks like shoprite is provided LTF 🙂

Its still a mis-selling cuz they promised world safari LTF but gave shoprite LTF.
Bro I have received similar email from RBL agent yesterday saying shoprite card is lifetime free but looking at the way you are fighting it out i am having second thoughts now whether to trust them and apply or not

So I received call from PNO RBL bank regarding my complaint to RBI.

They said they already resolved my issue, by taking disciplinary action 3rd party agent & same has been communicated to me earlier.

Can they really get rid of such mis-selling complaints just with disciplinary actions? Without any compensation or providing what is originally promised.
 
For compensation; you will have to demand through RBI
They won't give it unless they get bamboo in their *** Also, stick on the Paid CC topic which you have got (in complaint to RBI) . Disciplinary action gayi bhad me. Tumhe jo paid cc milka hai uska kya?
I closed the card myself without activation. I demanded for compensation in my RBI complaint also.

I was worried this fraud bank will somehow activate card themselves and charge me joining fees.

Just read this thread. This happened to me but with Axis Bank
In November 1st week, a guy called claiming to be from Axis Bank that Myzone card was offered to me as LTF. Based on my past experiences and TF threads, I was sure that he's 3rd party card seller and not from Bank
Because direct Bank employees don't try to make you apply cards and also they don't call from a personal number
Generally with 3rd parties sellers, they will ask all your details and apply from their end.
I don't apply through these agents at any cost and generally cut the call within 10 seconds.
But this guy wanted me to apply from axis mobile app and gave and employee and bank code. So I thought maybe he's an axis employee and applied but during application I was able to see that the card was paid(499) and not LTF. Also the delivery address was set to my old address and not current. He insisted it was LTF and also the card will be dispatched to my current address. Both of these didn't happen. Card went to my old address. I asked someone to open the card and send a pic of the letter. It said joining fees applicable. I decided not to activate the card for 30 days and expected the card to be deactivated
I expected it to be deactivated by dec 1st week but it didn't. In dec 3rd week I got the statement of 590rs for this unactivated card
I sent an email to Axis PNO immediately explaining the full issue including the employee and bank code mentioning that if this isn't resolved in 4 days I will be raising an complaint with RBI Ombudsman
After 5 days I got a call from the same scammer who made me apply to this card. He said that if this gets escalated his year end target will be missed blah blah and asked me to mail some axis mail id that the issue is resolved. I was furious and asked him to fix this issue and then I will mail. He checked from his end and said the card was already closed. I said I still have statement with me due Jan 1st week, what if bank reports me for non payment. He was pleading with me to send that mail. I said I wont until this is resolved. He kept continuously calling, sending messages on sms and WhatsApp through out the day. By evening I recieved a formal mail from axis saying that the card has been closed and statement is void. Then I send the mail which he asked for
My guess is that an axis card agent gave his credentials to this guy who's a 3rd party to boost his targets

So lesson learnt is apply for cards either by yourself or via bank agents. Not on calls from personal numbers...

Even though I was also interested in this card for the 0 markup, I was confident that she was 3rs party and said not interested

Generally these 3rd party agents over promise and can't deliver. Because if they let you know the reality you won't be applying for the card. So they make up lies to make you apply

Once you give your details and apply, you will be stuck with an unwanted card

I also read in this forum that RBI ombudsman sides with the bank in many cases and throws out most of the cases. Don't have high hopes on it. But once you mention RBI Ombudsman in the mails I have seen that the bank takes your seriously and atleast gives responses in reasonable time.
IIRC Sumanta-TF founder is fighting from almost a year for his Emeralde joining fees. I think currently he filed a case against ICICI in consumer court and fighting it

I was mostly sure that its 3rd party. But since I had calls recorded, I had some hope that I can force them to give LTF world safari but they didn't bulge.
 
So finally some progress.

I received call and said they can get approval for 10k Amazon/any brand gift voucher as compensation.
I asked for LTF world Safari, but they denied saying I can't apply within 3 months since I closed shoprite.

Shall I take 10k voucher and end this chase?

Its not a great card really. So just take the Amazon voucher and move on I'd suggest...
 
In my case I was promised by Assistant Branch Manager that I would be given RBL Sig+ DC without any charges & No AMB Account if I applied for signature banking, they took opening cheque and documents, till next 10 days there was no response or mail from them, I called an account opening officer of there(whom I had inquired about the DC before,nothing about signature banking) he told me there is no way I can get the DC free or AMB 0 without TRV, so I told him to proceed with normal savings account (AMB 10k) and apply for Sig+ since I needed the card. Also on the same day I filed a complaint with their customer care mentioning the details of the matter, then escalated to regional manager, she told fees can only be reversed of i closed card and not used the 5k welcome benefit voucher, and If I applied again, another 5.9k would be charged, hence no benefit for me in that. Then I escalated it to RBI, RBI din't reply for 20 days then mail came from GRO RBL, mentioning same thing as regional head, then after some days RBI mail came, I forwarded the same mail of my issue to them, and RBI closed my complaint saying I had signed on the account opening form which stated AMB and that bank can only refund card fees if they cancel card and the welcome benefit remains unutilised.

Do you think I can open the complaint again with RBI or in any case I can get even the compensation for misinformation provided by the AM? Or if anyone has relevant RBI guidelines relating to this, it would be great, thanks. (This all happened 2-3 months back)
