Require help to get my Simplyclick card to LTF or Annual fee waiver

Hello TF members,

I am using SBI Simplyclick card from Jul-2022 and so far I was able to spend 2.08L.
As I spent more than 1L in previous year, I got the Annual fee waiver but this year, I was able to spend around 75k only till now.

  1. Kindly help with your suggestions/advise on how can I approach SBI to make my simplyclick card to convert to LTF (if possible) or at least annual fee waiver for time being.
  2. Should I reach out to SBI now only or after annual fee is charged on my card i.e. after one month?
  3. I understood, these days, SBI is directly closing the card if closure request is placed on app, is it because the request is placed in non-working days/hours? Will we get call from card retention if closure request is placed in working day/hours?

Please share your recent experience if anyone has.

I also hold Cashback card which I am using since Dec-2022 and have spent over 9L till date on it where annual fee got waived last year and it would be waived this year in Dec month as well so I am good on Cashback card. As usage of Simplyclick is less due to low rewards so planning to keep only if SBI converts it to LTF.

See there are 2 options either you can call the cc and request to make it LTF or close the card request they will call you to retain and say you want the annual fees waiver they will happily waive your fees.
Also, explain your cashback card relationship as you are spending 9L+ in almost 1.5 yrs. they might change it to LTF.

Call Sbi card after they charge Annual Fee, they’ll reverse it. They even convert it to ltf if you negotiate. Literal words of sbi card customer care “we will revert annual fee if customer asks for wavier, like when he say can’t able to pay annual fees etc etc”. Same situation i faced: 1st Year, I’m able to meet the 100k limit but 2nd year i barely used the card. When I called they happily reversed the fees. After few weeks I again called to make it LTF & they happily did that to. Best thing is recently i upgraded the card. When i reached them via twitter asking them to make this new card a ltf because I’m upgrading from ltf card. Again they happily did it. Sbi card is straight when it comes to dealing with customers not like her sister company sbi banking
