(Resolved) SBI Bank Account STOP (Freeze) due to KYC

Yesterday I received this email from SBI
Dear Customer, STOP has been placed on your Acc XXXXX for the reason KYC Updation Overdue.-SBI Please do not reply to this auto generated email. For any query, please contact our toll free number 18001234 & 18002100.
I want to know how can I solve this issue as this is a very old account and the home branch is 1400Km far away as I migrated from that place.

So can I do my KYC from the branch nearby or in worst case can I close the account from a nearby branch.

Another thing, while filing ITR this account was Nominated for my Refund but when I received this email I instantly removed this account from my bank accounts in the profile section and nominated another account will I receive my refund in that account?

Okay here is the solution as this exact situation happened to me-

1. Call the Branch Manager and tell them about his STOP msg and your current inability to visit the branch in person.
Most probably, he/she will themselves ask you to mail these 3 self attested doc copies on branch mail ID (Aadhar, Pan and an application for removing this STOP).

2. If he/she doesn't tell you to send via mail then request them, they will agree.

3. Within a few hours of sending the mail, your STOP will be removed.

PS.- Send mail from registered mail ID.
Attach your passport size photo in the handwritten application as shown in the image below.
Branch mail ID mentioned in passbook and also available online if passbook is lost.

Thank you very much, I will definitely try this. Do you know how to contact bm directly? Or do we need to call the branch and then only we can contact the bm?

@Premium I am also facing a similar issue. Currently writing the email to sent to SBI.

It has only 1 sentence (the same you can see in the mail body) and my personal details, nothing else.
Just write - Please remove STOP from my account and these are my acc details:

That's it. Nothing fancy.

I have dropped mail to my home branch with PAN and Aadhaar. I have also attached a passport size photo. It's been more than 5 days, I have not received any response from the branch. As per my knowledge, the email id is correct and email is sent to the email id. What if they choose to ignore it, what can I do in that case? My branch is very far from my current location. Please help.

I called up the branch number which was provided and he was nice and quick

Try reaching them via call.
 
i am facing a similar issue. i am having account in SBI. i am unable to do any NEFT transfer or IMPS transfer of larger amount (roughly more than 50K, but this s also not fixed as sometimes it restricts me to less than 20K even.) but i have updated my KYC recently. even wen i try to update my KYC thru net banking it says "No KYC due for the account" wen i contacted the branch also, they are saying that my KYC is updated. and they are also unable to find the reason for this and unable to solve this too. this the exact response wen i do NEFT transfer thru NET banking. "kindly contact your home branch for completion of KYC formalities:" i have verified bout the transaction limit too.. its set at fairly a higher amount. can someone help me in this?

Visit the branch if possible and try the transaction in front of them.
 
thanks for yr response. ya did tat bro.. it failed tat time too.. they were clueless wy it fails.. they jus asked me send screenshot of the same to their mail id.. nothing useful happened.
Have you tried mailing to the customer support? I mean if you are unable to get help from the branch itself, it is very unlikely you will find a solution here.
