Look, I also don’t want the RuPay Select debit card to get devalued.

I’ve always wanted at least some restrictions so that people don’t get offers too easily.

I mean, it shouldn’t be so hard that people can’t get offers at all — just a balanced approach, you know. (On this point, your way of looking at it and mine will probably never match but remember this much: neither of us wants a devaluation.)

Second thing — till today, not a single bank has devalued anything because of something I tagged them in.

SBI wanted to promote the CB Card, that’s why I tagged them.

RBL Bank wanted to promote those two debit cards of theirs, so I tagged them.

HDFC Bank also wanted to promote theirs, so I tagged them.

And how did I know all this? Obviously from the banks themselves — from their sales teams.

But someone emailed HDFC’s upper management saying “people are looting through this,” and then HDFC discontinued the card.

Many of you might be new but the 1% upto 750 cashback offer on the HDFC Platinum Debit Card has been running for maybe a decade.

HDFC themselves used to tell me to pay my credit card bill through the HDFC portal and get 1% cashback.

Because the people on Twitter are mostly 3rd-party customer care and sales team people.

Go catch the one who emails HDFC and discontinued the card.

Someone on Twitter even openly said about IDFC — “I told IDFC to put MCC code restrictions.” LOL. Go catch that guy. Catch the one who complains to the bank and causes the devaluation.

@SSV has been sitting with a post about me for I don’t know how long but has he or anyone ever asked why SBI CB Card and RBL DC haven’t been devalued?

If I really “tagged the banks so much,” then why nothing happened?

Because SBI Card and RBL Bank themselves told me that they have no plan to devalue anything and these people are from the sales team and the regular 3rd-party customer care side on Twitter.

But remember this — if someone emails the higher management of SBI Card or RBL Bank and explains everything in detail, then 100% devaluation will happen.

And I won’t have anything to do with it and also, these card offers has been running for a very long time, so if a devaluation happens in the future, it will only be because a lot of people are using it.
