Hey everyone,
I really need some advice here because I’ve been going in circles for months now with SBI Card, RBI, and CPGRAMS, and still haven’t received a proper resolution.
So here’s what happened:
Last year, I applied for an SBI Credit Card online through their website. I clearly remember selecting the normal variant, not the “Reliance SBI Card PRIME” version. Everything - from applying to completing video KYC - was done online.
A few days later, when the card arrived, I was shocked to see it was the Prime variant with ₹2999 annual fee. I immediately raised the issue with the sales person, he promised me that keep using the card and in 6 months Sbi will make it LTF and i was new at that time so didn't thought that much.
Later i raised the matter with SBI and asked them to show me the original digital application form where I supposedly selected this Prime variant.
Instead of that, they sent me a MIT (Most Important Terms and Conditions) copy - which is totally different! That copy already has my credit card number printed on it.
Now tell me - when you apply for a card online, do you already have a card number at that stage? Obviously not. The number gets generated later, after approval. So clearly, the MIT they are showing is not the original application form.
I raised this matter with RBI Ombudsman, explaining that SBI is hiding the actual application and trying to pass off MIT as proof. RBI just forwarded SBI’s same old reply and closed the complaint without verifying anything.
Then I tried CPGRAMS, hoping for a fair check. But again, they simply accepted SBI’s reply and marked my case as “disposed.” No one even bothered to check whether the document shared was actually the original application form.
Now SBI is repeatedly asking me to visit their walk-in desk to “see” the application form in person - which makes no sense because it was an online application. They can easily share it digitally if they actually have it.
It’s been months of back-and-forth, and I’m seriously tired. They are just forwarding template replies. I just want them to replace the card with the original one which i asked for but NO, they ain't helping. Also it's been year so i don't have whatsapp chat with the sales agent or any other proof. But i clearly remember that i would never apply for the card with fees of 2999.
Has anyone faced something similar with SBI Cards or any other bank?
What’s the next logical step when even RBI and CPGRAMS don’t take proper action?
Is there any higher authority to file a complaint?
Any help or suggestions would mean a lot.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far.
I'm attaching a reply given by sbi to me, rbi, and cpgrams in which they are just reiterating and not acknowledging the core issue.
