Hi everyone,

Suppose my Statement is going to be generated on 3rd of Dec. I just wanted to know how the capping limit of 5k works. Let's say I make a transaction of 10k on 3rd of December(statement will be generated at the end of 3rd I. E., all transactions made till 3rd would get covered I believe for payment) and Rs 500 is due as CB. Since the transaction gets settled by 5th only, now will the cashback get considered for Statement generated in 3rd of December or 3rd of January?

If your card's statement has been generated on Dec 3, then all transactions done on 2nd Dec and 3rd Dec (say Rs 10k here) will come under unbilled transactions and these will be billed in the next billing date ie on Jan 3. Cashback of Rs 500 will credit on Jan 4 under unbilled transactions.
Thanks for helping! So basically it'd get counted towards the total 5k cashback of the statement getting generated on 3rd of January.

So to put it simply, the 5k limit is counted towards spends that are settled. If transactions are not settled, cashback for the same will not get counted towards the 5k limit of the statement

Transaction done on Dec 2 won't settle on or before Dec 3 as all cc transactions in SBI Cards comes with 2 days and 2 nights package for settlement. (Considering that the person gets bill generated email before Dec 3 ends).
Just to correct it, I don't get email on 3rd. I get the email on 4th late evening every month

I have a query here. I just had a bill generated for 85400 for SBI Cashback CC on the 3rd of December. Today on the 5th - I got the message that your cashback of 4333 is settled in your account. Should I still pay the full bill of 85400 or deduct the cashback amount of 4333 and pay the remaining one 81067 (85400-4333). Please help.

Yes, you've to pay the entire amount. I believe you can claim the excess credit in your bank account if you want to after paying the full amount.

So sbi will not stop the payment which is in excess?
Currently Sbi stopping me to pay the amount in excess, Currently I do transaction of say 1000 which is unsettled for now and while doing payment, it raises issue that you have 0rs excess and you can't pay more. Even if it settle, i think i cannot pay more than 1000. This changes look recently, can Anyone confirm this

In simplyClick(not used from past 2 month), I always clear the outstanding after the payment and no such issue

Wait for the transaction to settle, and once it does, you'll be able to proceed with the payment.
