SBI Cashback card issue

I recently contacted SBI card customer care regarding cashback issue on my SBI cashback card.
Most of my transactions (done online) were not received 5% cashback and when I asked about the same they mentioned that some of the merchants have restrictions on cashback (ex: I have done a transaction on Subway but I received a 1% cashback instead of 5%).
Any one faced this issue??

Understood. If MCC is in exclusion list then it will be difficult. Tried to get MCC of transaction but back end team denied on email. Front line customer care executive doesn't have much idea about this, they are just reading the lines given in email. Is there any other way to get MCC?

Use the steps given by bugmenot to identify MCC and then update us.

Automated payments of Netflix etc.getting counted under Utility MCC-4900.

Even Manual Payments will not fetch 5% since SBI excluded OTT Subscriptions MCC-4899 under the Head Utility given in Devaluation PDF.

That is counted as off line transaction, so you will get 1% cashback
It's not SBI fault

Not only this i have done some transactions online still i have received 1%/2% cashback.

My easemytrip and Flipkart flight (2 diff transactions) were void of cashback. I need to raise complaints against those.

SBI Card > Mailbox > Other Issues > Cashback not Credited

I am also facing similar issue. Paid to Swiggy Dineout. Instead of 5% only 1% CB was received.

M toh deocde nhi kar paya.

Your Biling date is 16th ?

Yes, billing date is 16th. Thank you so much. As MCC 5942 is comes under Books/Store, it shouldn't be in the exclusion list.

That means SBI is at fault and not giving Cashback even for eligible MCC.

Go head raise a Complaint and mention MCC is eligible for 5%.
If SBI still deny RBI BO is always there.

Raised a complaint with customer care team. if it didn't solve at their level then will go to next level.

MCC 5942 is in SBI Card's exclusion list. They have listed this MCC as 'School and educational services'.

But his txn is on flipkart. If it's a shopping txn, i don't see why the MCC would be in excluded categories.
It's worth escalating. Else SBI will just given CB at it's own discretion and customers would never know if they're going to get it or not.

there is a slight chance of Flipart using a different MCC but in that case SBI should atleast share the MCC.

Normal shopping only. But I was redirected from Yono SBI website for additional 5% cash back. That time payment gateway gives different MCC. I got MCC 5942 School & Educational Services. Verified another time, same thing repeated.
I have got cash back for the same items purchased via Flipkart app/website.

I did a 32K transaction on EaseMyTrip this Friday (Flight Booking). I received 0% CB.

Did two other transactions on the same day:
MakeMyTrip via Amazon Flights - 5% CB Received
Agoda Flights - 5% CB Received.

I have opened up a ticket for EaseMyTrip Issue and waiting for a revert. Ideally, I should be receiving Cashback for the same.

The transactions of MMT via Amazon and Agoda were after 1 May 2023? And you booked flights on MMT via Amazon?

For Offline transactions, the cashback is only 1%
