SBI credit card limit reallocation

I got and pre-approved offer for SBI octane rupay credit card and I would like to try it and they offered without joining fee.

While trying to complete the application process it asked me to adjust the credit limit between my existing SBI cashback credit card and the new octane credit card.

I will currently adjust the credit limit between the two cards and apply for the octane credit card but I have two questions here:
1) Once I applied by distributing the limit between the two cards, will I be able to change the limits for those cards or not? If I can what will be the process for it?
2) I have a limit of 1.2l currently for cashback card and I'll allocate 80k to octane card for now. If in any case I wanted to close the octane card, then what will happen to limit I added to that card. Will the limit between added back to my cashback card or it'll be lost?

which card you were trying to close in order retention team to come into the picture?
Paytm rupay sbi card and then they merged my sbi simply save card limit to cashback and also paytm rupay sbi card limit to cashback, the only limit that is still there was my secured card limit that wasn't transferable according to that lady on call.

Okay lets take one step at a time.
So you were trying to close paytm rupay SBI card and at that time retention team came into the picture and you asked them to transfer paytm cc limit to CB card and they did it , right?

No, i was just for closing and asked from them if they can do onething that will be helpful for my Cashback card then she did both card limit transfer to cashback card

I did not understand this, what were you trying to close ?
It was a fault due to which my all transaction otp was going to an international number after that I requested for closure and they were clueless so I asked in favour of closing if she can transfer the limit of my paytm card to cashback then she happily did that and asked me do you want to transfer simply save limit too then I said if that can be possible that will be great and she did that

Attaching ss that I found in my email.

If I understand correctly:
1) You Paytm Rupay card was having some technical issue of sending OTP to an international number.
2) You tried to highlight this issue and close the Paytm Card and at that time retention team gave you oppeortunity to transfer CL of Paytm card into CB card as they were unable to fix your OTP issue.
3) Along with paytm card's CL, your already closed SS card's CL was also transferred into CB card..

was my understaing above right?

This means:
1) Paytm card's CL was transferred into CB card before it was actually closed and hence it doesnt' qualify for ability to closed cc's CL into an existing CC.
2)But the transfer of CL of your already SS is an injhtersting case and this is what are looking for.
3) As you are stating that you are still receiving monthly bills means that they are actaully not permanently closed in their system..

are you receiving monthly statements for Paytm only or for both paytm and SS also?

Not receiving on email, just saw some day before on app the last statement generation date was 4th of January 2025 and then came to know still they are generating the statement, card is already closed in cibil and other credit reporting websites.
