SBI DEBIT CARD QUERY

Today i have opened account in sbi. I requested branch people to only give me cheque book no debit was required they. As now i will be receiving debit card (not sure about the variant). I think sbi debit cards are first year free. If I'll not activate my debit card and hotlist the card. Will there be any charges? For hotlisting the card. Or maybe I'll charge next year for card. Kindly help me with this.

Don't worry simply hotlist it if it not needed to you and no charges will be applicable and yes there is no joining charges applicable for global and classic cards in sbi😀

Don't worry simply hotlist it if it not needed to you and no charges will be applicable and yes there is no joining charges applicable for global and classic cards in sbi😀

Not entirely sure but you need debit card details initially to register your bank account for UPI. might just be a one-time requirement but worth rechecking to avoid hassles later. and honestly, never heard of SBI charging debit card annual charges.

They are providing Rupay Global Debit card in new accounts.

Annual Fee 125+GST will charged after one year.

You can create UPI PIN using this Debit card then block it.

Keep in mind you will always need an active debit card to reset your internet banking login & profile password.

So better keep it.

Yes they are maybe providing rupay card my cousin just opened 2 weeks ago and he got the same card.
Actually i already have icici debit card. I don't need another debit card. I just want to use this account as secondary one. So no point of paying charges. Also i have kotak 811 virtual card.

No actually there are chargers for that according to their website also bank offical told me that there are chargers

Hey bro can you tell me currently i can keep 0 balance in my sbi account as they had waived of minium balance requirement but bank officals always say 3k is to be maintained

It is not recommended hotlisting or blocking the debit card just to save the dc fees.

In case you forget internet banking password and need to reset it, it will require debit card details for verification purposes else you need to visit branch and place a request offline and you know how good is SBI 🙂.
Also,
Debit Card required to set UPI pin

SBI will mostly ask debit card for any kind of verification/authentication purpose.
So decide accordingly.

They don't charge joining fees but charge annual fees..

LOL, check RuPay Platinum debit card thread, i shared all SBI RuPay Platinum debit card code. you need to share the card code to apply for SBI RuPay Platinum debit card from SBI branches.

Some SBI branches also issue 1 day Visa and 1 day RuPay, if you visit on Visa day then you will not get any RuPay card, Visit next day for RuPay day.
