SBI deducting cashback, from cashback received via merchant offer

Hi,

I had purchased laptop online which had cashback offer. I used SBI cashback card to get the double benefit.
Now when I have received cashback from merchant SBI is debiting cashback for the amount returned from merchant.

I think it is invalid as amount is not refund. I have raised issue but wanted to understand how this works?

You can take either the cashback or discount from SBI sale offer but not both.

This is not SBI sale offer. The offer was from merchant for all credit cards.

Complain to the nodal officer and then to the RBI, otherwise SBI will say lunch ke baad aana

I have tried it but to no avail.
They told me it will be considered a refund.

Whether they deducted the entire cashback or equivalent to the money you got as cashback from Merchant?
