Rewards​

The BPCL SBI credit card OCTANE has a 6.25% reward rate for all BPCL spends including Bharat Gas spends. Other than this, it also gives good rewards for Dining, Departmental Stores, Grocery & Movies category spends. This makes it easy to achieve the required spends for an annual fee waiver.

The monthly transaction value to hit the max cap of accelerated fuel rewards would be Rs 10,000. This should be more than enough for most people. We can also spend on other categories like Departmental Stores and Grocery to reach the annual fee waiver. The 2.5% value back on these is also pretty good.

Spend Rs 2 Lakhs to get the annual fee waiver and get maximum rewards on fuel transactions.

Guys, sbi visa to rupay conversion now possible. I tried to convert my visa bpcl to rupay for quite a few months but always was told not possible.but this month they took request and within 3-4 days got my rupay bpcl in hand.

All banks have their own terms & conditions.

And I also said that this CC on UPI has not been fully integrated yet.

Banks update credit card software in every 3 to 6 months. Due to which it takes years for all the integrations to be completed.

It is also possible that SBI Card may not have made any plan for fuel rewards on UPI transaction yet. You can just give feedback and suggestions to SBI Card.

How come this is disadvantage. Were you able to do UPI transaction on visa signature variant?? The answer is NO.
So just swipe your Rupay card as you were doing earlier and enjoy the benefits.

I already have Sbi cashback and planning to get this card
Some questions for those who have got this card:
1. Can I directly apply for Rupay variant of do I have to first take Visa and then convert?
2. Do we get charged fuel surcharge if we pay via UPI and does it get reversed?
3. Is there a list of eligible petrol pumps that are bound to give accelerated points?

1. At time of issue you can ask for its rupay variant to be issued

2. UPI transactions are not considered for fuel rewards only swipe via machine will be considered and yes no reversal of surcharge

3. No any BPCL PETROL PUMP gives but only redemption of reward points have list

On point #3, most the the pumps at least in my ares won't give any points, only at 1 or 2 selected bpcl pumps, i am getting rewards and that too is not proper if they change the swiping machines

Is there a specific Pos machine which gives correct points? (pinelabs, Paytm, or any other bank pos)
Also, is it necessary that Merchant name should have BPCL mentioned? (Or is there some other mechanism they use to identify which is a BPCL pump - @Abhishek012 )

as far I have used this Card even if bpcl is not mentioned then also I have received reward points only once I faced a problem where fuel surcharge was not refunded but I raised a request and then got it

Here is what happened with me, 15 days back, after around 10 calls, no agent was able to help and i wrote an email and got a response from cc that my request will be taken up before may 31, which never happened.
I also didn't follow up as I wanted to take advantage of visa tap and pay offer.

I finally got voucher for visa txn yesterday and then called sbi cc and in a minute, they approved request to flip. I can see rupay card in sbicard app today and also got dispatched message and instructions for setting pin.
So finally sbi rupay bocl octane is on its way.

When I was holding normal bpcl card, it gave 13x rewards for loading money to bpcl smartdrive app.
But when I upgraded the card to bpcl octane, I was not getting rewards for loading money to smartdrive. Seems to be bin issue.
Anyone tried loading money to smartdrive using octane rupay and if yes, how about rewards?

I was having normal bpcl rupay card, request for upgrade to octane but was decline. Next day I applied via sprint without closing the normal one and it was approved. Now the octane was flipped with normal with the whopping increase in limit from 20k to 165k.
