For maximum benefit of the offer, you just need to do a transaction of Rs.6400 (or 6200) and check whether you get Normal + Bonus pts as that will cover max. 500 accelerated pts. Else do more than this.

How to calculate maximum amount of txn single or cumulative one has to do under a campaign to get maximum benefit.

Depending upon what campaign is running do according to table.

For future campaigns, just look the maximum accelerated rewards and calcualte maximum txn amount with factor in table below.

Ex: 1. Winter Campaign of 5X running between Dec 23, 2024 to Jan 5, 2025 has 500 Max. Points.

So Max. Amt = 12.5x500= Rs.6250. As SBI has 200 multiple txn amt should be Rs.6200 or Rs.6400. For Physical DC it will be 25x500= 12500 (12400 or 12600).

2. Similarlly Bachat Boss Offer has 5X pts but has 300 max.accelereated pts.

So 12.5X300= 3750 which means Rs.3600 or Rs. 3800 txn max.

Keep in mind the 200 multiple factor in amount.


How SBI Reward System Works on transacting with Physical Debit Card or Virtual Debit Card?

1. SBI provides 2 points per 200 for every transaction of Rs.200 and above and in multiples of 200 like 400/600/1000/5000/10000/50000 etc.

2. With Physical Card you get 2 Pts/200 while when you use Virtual Debit Card for transaction you get extra 2 Points giving you 2+2 = 4 Pts per 200.

3. The maximum points you can earn in a month has a capping of 10000 points. This include Normal Points in case of Phsyical DC and Normal+Bonus Pts in case of Virtual DC. SBI also give 2X benefit in account holder birthday month. For ex: If your birthday month is January then all the points you earned in january transactions will be doubled including the VDC Bonus and this birthday bonus is part of 10K max points per month. Campaign points aren't part of this 10K limit.

4. The following are the transaction limits:

- Physical DC: Do not exceed 1L per transaction. For a transaction of 1L, you will earn 1000 points. The monthly cap for physical DC 10L.

- Virtual DC: Do not exceed 50K per transaction per day. For a transaction of 50K, you will earn 1000 points. The monthly cap for virtual DC is 5L.

5. There is a additional milestone benefit of 1000 points on per Lakh spends with SBI DC/VDC and whenever you spend Rs.1L with physical DC, you are rewarded 1000 extra points. In case you use VDC, you need to spend 50K only. These milestone benefits are credited next month between 10-30th of month, maximum time is 60 days.

6. After transaction, Normal Points or Normal + Bonus Pts ( only when VDC used) are credited between 2-7 or 14 days max.

7. Birthday Bonus are credited next month between 1-7th of month. For ex: If you have bday in Jan then your 2X pts will be credited between Feb 1-7. It mostly gets credited within 2 days is what I have seen till now.

The campaign points and its multipliers will be shared with offer coming. The 5X example given above is just for understanding purpose. SBI keeps running campaign but multiplier effect changes like sometimes it is 2X accelerated rewards, sometimes 3X and sometimes 5X. So pts are given according to it.
Query: How Milestone Benefits of 1000 points per Lakh spent works for Physical and Virtual Debit Card Differently?

If you use physical DC you earn 1X Normal pts only. So for that you need to do 1L txns to get extra 1000 reward points as milestone benefit but with VDC you get extra pts that complete your milestine at half so 50K on VDC gives 500 Normal + 500 Bonus = 1000 Pts. Now whenever you earn 1000 pts it is equal to 1L and milestone triggers. This is a bug which may or may not get rectified by SBI.

Just because of this you also get accerlerated given for both Normal and Bonus during offer campaigns.

Physical DC = 50K Txn = 500 Normal Pts. So no milestone until you spend 1L with it.

VDC: 50K Txn = 500 Normal 1X + 500 Bonus 1X = 1000 Pts that trigger and tell system spend of 1L completed. So in short, when you pay or cumulatively reach 50K, you get this 1000 also turning your all txns into 1% cashback. If this month you do 25K only and next month 25K even thern also you get milestone benefit.

But if you miss bonus pts credit then you lose this benefit also.

Ex: You did 50K txn and no bonus credited then you need to reach SBI Rewardz CC and they will credit it manually but then this will not be counted in miestone which trigger automatically. So 1% these days isn't guaranteed.

Now another ex: You did 50K and missed bonus, got only 500 Normal and later you did 25K and got normal + bonus also then 500+250+250 will trigger 1L milestone benefit.

In short whenever your earned total pts incl. normal+bonus reach 1000, you get it. Accelerated RPs or compaign bonuses aren't part of 1L milestone.

Milestone benefits have no upper limit in month or year. For every 50K spend with VDC (Virtual Debit Card) or Rs.1 Lakh with PDC (Physical Debit Card) you get 1000 points equalling amount to Rs.250.

So there is no need to do all these calculations if my monthly bills that i pay using vdc exceeds 50k ?
I would get my normal 2000 reward points (500+500+1000 milestone bonus) for 50k txn and extra points that could be 300 or 500 depending on current offer

The max amount of the txn needs to only be considered when the 5x capping is higher like 5k or 10k

If you are assuming that you will get all bonus points for virtual DC without any issues or hit-n-miss, then yes.

But, in reality SBI will teach you calculations, since the above thinking is purely a lucky assumption.

There will be days when you get everything, and there will be days when you don't even get the base points. So, forget about bonus and milestone benefits.

Don't want to give it so much energy and time, I'll be happy with whatever i get and wouldn't bother keeping track of reward point and txns 🙂
 
Update: Bonus points of many stucked txns have come automatically today evening.

From 4-5 days Unipay also sending successful SMSes and email of txns done in December. Seems like SBI is correcting its own mess. I have got for 4 txns now and all were on Unipay. Maybe bonuses were not getting confirmed as there is delay on part of txn confirmation either at SBI end or BBPS.
