SBI sent statement for non activated card

I applied for bpcl octane card for my father through his Pan. They issued pulse card.
Now I sent mail next day(21 oct) to SBI card customer care email to cancel the card. And I didn't generate pin for it.

Today received SMS and mail statement due of 1770 RS on 22 November for this card from SBI.

Same thing happened to me. I applied for simplyclick card for me and got issued pulse card. I wrote mail directly to nodal officer and received call from them to close the card. They wanted to process simplyclick card again for me but I declined.

I also received SMS that my card has been blocked due to security reasons. Same sms was received by my father for his card also. But hey have not sent me statement but generated for his card.


I have all the sms screenshots clearly mentioning which card we applied for and application number.

What to do now? How should I approach to solve this issue?

Edit 1: I also received the same mail that statement has been generated now. For 1770 RS on my pulse card. Even though I mailed when I received the card for card closure.

1. Pay the bill if due is near (even if it's not, you should pay if you're seeking compensation because it'll make case strong).

2. Email nodalofficer@sbicard.com to resolve the issue first.

3. If they didn't resolve, once you reach 20th Nov from first complaint in bank, raise complaint in RBI Ombudsman against the bank asking compensation (atleast 5k IMO) + charges reversal.

same happened to me, gave me Pulse instead of Prime, then I got fees waived, converted it to air india, again got fees waived, and now converted to Prime.
Took almost 6 months.

you have to keep mailing and escalating them and if it does not work, raise a closure request and negotiate once they call you to retain.

How did you negotiate? Their phone numbers always either say it's incorrect number or don't connect. I mailed to nodal officer for card closure when they delivered the card. Still no reply.

From net banking, compose mail. Or twitter. Or just raise a card closure request through mobile app/net banking -> services

OP, just follow the above. There are no options other than the above. CIBIL will be hit and it will create unrecoverable damage for life long (and after the life too, if one is able to check the cibil report).

Yeah. That is the plan. I am just amused that how was be able to negotiate closing and converting 3 cards from SBI customer care when they haven't even replied to any of my mails in the past 30 days and what they say on phone they don't do.

This guy must have patience of a saint.
