Hello Everyone,

Standard charter bank's credit card was never in my wish list, As I did many research that like SBI they will not give me LTF card without salary account.

But, Last week SC guys came in my company and was offering LTF EasyMyTrip card for Salary account. I refused and asked them to give any other card LTF. They were ready to give FYF SmartValue card with Oneplus buds. But I refused that too.

Today, I got to know in other Youtuber's Telegram channel that SC is offering LTF card, So I applied.

Today 20th March, Around 1 PM, I applied from SC bank's official website, Filled basic details, Name, address, PAN, Current and permanent address, income details, office address etc, Option was to select Income proof as Either Payslip or other bank card starement. I selected Paylsip. For identity proof Option was VoterId, Passport or driving license. I selected Driving license.

Post that application was submited and got Congratulation message that "Application with number got approved in principle".

There was document tab, So I thought they will later enable it for upload. I they never did 🙂.

Got call from customer care after 1 hour and verified my email address and mobile number and said you will receive SMS just select otp and do Ekyc. It was Aadhaar based ekyc which I did.

After 2 Hour got call from same executive and asked me for OTP. I already watched videos over YouTube So, I was aware that SC bank ask OTP for credit card application over call. So I gave that OTP to her over call and post verification she said VKYC link will come on mail and SMS.

Got VKYC link within 10 min and completed VKYC via link received on email.

Video KYC: They took my Photo, PAN original photo and need to read OTP from screen. Later he asked me many questions for confirmation: Name, Mobile number, DOB, address PIN, office address, Product you applied, Annual salary etc.

and Done.

Got SMS and emails with credit card last four digit number and other onboarding details 😍

Hope it is LTF after spending Rs. 500 within 30 days 😅

Few things i want to highlight
a) Current address or residential prof should be in eligible city no physical verification done..i gave my old PG address
b) Card can be delivered to permanent address which is in your addhar or passport
c) You can apply second card or even third card after approval of first card
d) Easymyrtrip has more approval chance once approved you can apply for any card (I got smart card in less than 24 hours)
Was you old PG address updated in Aadhaar?

I did submitted application this Sunday and it says my application under process. But I didn’t do vkyc till now. Normally how much time does it take to get vkyc link ?

Usually within 2 hours of doing Aadhar ekyc.

You will get a call from their side to verify your entered details after that they will send you a sms for aadhar ekyc. After you complete your aadhar based ekyc you will get your vkyc link via email.

After completing the vkyc process, around 3-4 hour later you should get your vkyc successful email.

After that if your card gets approved you will receive temporary user id and password for mobile/internet banking via sms/email.

Btw what card did you apply for?

I applied through an agent for a supposedly LTF Smart CC. However they've given a EMT CC instead of the Smart CC with a limit of 4L and no LTF.

I spoke to CC earlier today and they offered to provide an upgrade to whichever card I want. I tentatively picked Smart but now I don't even know if any of the SC cards are useful. I might just end up not activating the card and let it lapse.

They've also added 3 CIBIL enquiries for 1 application. I've tried emailing at card.services@sc.com but no response at all. I expected the customer care to be a lot better for some reason.

You can activate the card and then apply for a Smart credit card as an existing customer. They will do verification by deducting ₹1 from your current credit card. You will get the Smart card approved within 24 hours, after that you can request to close the EMT card. Smart cc is FYF so you'll just have to pay for the joining fees of EMT. This is the faster way to get the card instead of going through all the application again.

Is the Smart CC of much use though, especially when one has a SBI CB, Airtel CB etc?

If you've got most things covered with SBI Cashback and Axis Airtel then I don't think there is much value in Smart cc. StanChart can give you fee waiver so annual fees won't be an issue and you get 4L increase in your total credit limit which affects your CIBIL positively, plus you can use StanChart cc on their special offers on any merchant. You can later get upgraded to StanChart ultimate credit card if you like super premium cards.

I think even the Ultimate is devalued now especially with the lack of good redemption options.

Smart card

They called me for e kyc. He told me that my card is approved and just complete ekyc. They did not tell about vkyc. And I did ekyc.
Did they ask you to provide an OTP to them over call? Maybe you will get vkyc link later. Some of my friends got vkyc link on email the next day of completion of ekyc. If they've told you your card is approved, then most probably you will get it. If they want to give you a card they will find a way to, Banks work in mysterious ways 😂
