Section suggestion & TF Community improvement strategies

I am noticing a lot of duplicate threads created over same topic. Members creating threads for basic queries which can be searched either on TF or on the bank's website. People don't want to put any effort on their own but want others to put in effort to answer their queries.

I feel that the current situation is creating a lot clutter. People are posting new threads left and right even for petty things.

Can we do something about this issue? Just one example here with lot many threads on same topic. Link

Are we going to create threads for Axis miles credit issue every 10 days (this is normal for axis). Why not use the existing thread?

I am just bouncing off ideas:
  • Put all new threads posted by members under certain level to go through moderator review before being visible?
  • Take away the new threads right for members under certain level. They can search and post in existing thread but cannot create new threads?
  • Add a warning system where if you receive 3 strikes then your posting privileges are revoked for a month?
  • Create mega threads for regularly discussed topics, like how to apply for xyz card? Axis not crediting miles, which card for what payment? Any new threads created on these topics should be merged to this mega thread by mods?
Your suggestion are noted and will be discussed on appropriate level..

Hi TFCians,

We value your feedback and suggestions regarding our forum section. Please let us know if there are any sections that you think are missing or if you would like us to add a new category or sub-forum. Your input is important to us and we want to make sure that our community meets your needs.

Additionally, we are considering the creation of a special group dedicated to improving TF Community. We are thinking of forming a committee consisting of our moderators and the top 5 active members of TFC. This group will work together to make our community even better.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this idea. Do you think it would be beneficial? Let us know your opinion.

Thank you for being a part of our community.

Best regards,
TF Community Team

Few categories like reactions, mentions & quotes, replied etc.
This will help everyone in prioritising what notification seems important to them and let other be remain unread.

I am talking about categorising this list of alerts.
If I get like 30 alerts, few I might miss, and If this was categorised, I would prioritise quotes or mentions. I am like saari notification chahiye, but categorised rahe toh dhundna easy hoga

Hope I am clear.

Furthermore, a member can post thread summary as a comment - for super old threads.

Easy. Too much time saved.
This is exactly what I do sometimes. For example, here

Not all super heroes wear cape, some wear shades and eat dough nuts.

Need to check with team.Whether it can be incorporated or not.Anyhow noted your feedback for further action on the same.

Feel The Bern Meme GIF by Bernie Sanders

I'm once again asking for incorporating plain text comments in a post - so that I can copy paste it in a GPT and get post summary.

For context, I began reading this post - https://www.technofino.in/community/threads/ltf-sapphiro-emerald-credit-card.1657/
It is 29 pages long. 29 pages would take me ages to read, and since it started in 2022 maybe a lot of things aren't relevant anymore.

Please, please consider adding simple text comments. I work in tech and I can help. Anirban da (tech veteran) commented earlier that it shouldn't be too difficult.

When majority of the people post in Hinurglish, neither ChatGPT nor 🙀 CatGPT can help in summarizing.

Good question. I didn't know for sure, so I tried.

It works. Screenshot attached.

Have posted this earlier in a different thread, as I was not aware of this (suggestion/feedback) thread 🙂
Please take a look

1) Can we archive or freeze threads older than , say, 2 years, if there was no comment in the past 2 years, this is to avoid people commenting & re-start the threads. Usually the content is not relevant after 2years.
2) how about we run a monthly/quarterly check to merge/delete duplicate threads.

Majority of threads which we feel irrelevant have been locked in the past review. We will take care of those in the next phase. Thanks for the suggestion, we will try to include these in our discussions.
