Hi Everyone,
I have been using the HDFC Infinia credit card for over four years now and previously held the Amex Platinum Charge card for a year. However, I found the annual fee for the Amex card unjustifiable, as I already enjoy Bonvoy Gold Elite status through my stays, aiming for Platinum Elite next year. While I plan to continue using the HDFC Infinia as my primary card, I’m looking for a suitable backup credit card, especially since I take 4–5 international trips per year.
On average, I spend ₹3 lakh approx per month on my credit card. Most of my travel is on Air India, and I am working towards Maharaja Club Gold status. I try to book as many flights as possible using HDFC reward points. I purchase Gyftr gift cards from Smartbuy for everything Amazon/Swiggy.
Currently, I’m considering the HDFC Marriott Bonvoy card and Tata Neu RuPay (primarily for UPI transactions). However, the Marriott Bonvoy card has a 3.3% forex markup, so I’m uncertain about using it over Infinia, even for hotel transactions overseas.
Given these factors, I’d appreciate your recommendations for a secondary credit card that complements my spending and travel habits.
Thank you in advance for your suggestions!
