Setting up eNACH/ECS for Credit Card Bill Payment

I was about to setup eNACH/ECS for payment of my Axis Credit Card bills.

I have a question regarding how does the payment work.

For e.g. my bill is Rs. 15000.
MAD : ₹750, TAD : ₹15,000
Bill Date : 1 Oct
Due Date : 19 Oct

Suppose, on 10th Oct, I pay ₹8,000 via CRED, ₹2,000 via Cheq.

So, the remaining amount due is ₹5,000.

In this situation, how much amount would be deducted from my account and on which date will it be deducted?

What are the benefits of splitting of Bill into 3 parts and paying through different channels?

just pay directly from net banking or debit card

This is concerning. It should be deducted atleast 5 days before to get some buffer in case of delay in settlement

With my 10 years of using Axis credit cards, from my experience, the auto debit is either triggered or fails to trigger due to unknown reason. Once triggered, the payment reaches the cards in a few hours at the most.

I think the auto debit didn’t work for a maximum of 4 times in the last 10 years. Since, I always have an alert entry in my calendar on the due date, I paid the due manually on those occasions when the auto debit failed.

HDFC even accepts a few days of delay if we contact their support when auto debit fails. Don’t know how Axis works in this regard.

If you don't have auto debit in place then you should pay your bill as soon as you get an email or SMS, or else you will forget it later
The normal period of delay is 18 days

@falcon007 Do you have a savings account with Axis?

If yes, I recommend auto debit. In case of auto debit, you will receive an auto debit SMS, two business days before the due date. The SMS will have the exact amount to be deducted. If you pay an advance amount through other means, then those amounts will be deducted and you will see a lesser amount in the SMS. If you pay some advance after receiving the SMS, then the advance amount will reflect only on the next bill.

No, I don't have Axis Savings Account.

I had a thought of opening a new account but MAB, Card AMC are additional charges.

For now, CRED seems to be a better choice.

Why not create a task or reminder to remind you 7-10 days before your due dates of every month and pay then? For more convenience, you can aggregate your statement generation dates to a single date for all of them.
(PS: Setting up a reminder is as easy as Ok Google or Siri or Alexa)
