someone added my email id for their card

someone who shares the same name as me seems to have provided my email address to a card (discover).

now I'm getting all email alerts for each of his transactions (USD).

i know this should not be possible, but is there any chance that my credit profile is affected based on my email mapping? there has been no otp sharing/aadhaar/pan validation from my side. even discover didn't do any verification and is sending me transaction level details.

no unknown credit enquiries as of now, just the emails i am getting.

Even I faced the same issue..I .not sure whether my mails will go to him.
in my case i don't think Bank has interchanged our email ids.
previously also i had received emails for this same person from some other subscription service. i think he uses that email ID as a dump.

but interesting to know, how do i find out if it is the bank who has messed up, or the persons has given wrong address ?

and ultimately, will my credit history get affected?

Send an email to discover customer care to close this credit card.
i thought of doing that, but any reply from my side is a formal acknowledgement that i accept that the email id provided is correct. i could write to them saying that the address is incorrect though.

and mostly these alerts are coming from no-reply ids.

also worried that doing this may lead to discover cancelling my diners card 🤦‍♂️

Hmm you just getting the transaction alerts, I am facing a diff issue, getting Lab reports of many patients from many locations of a testing lab center, because the doctor name and my name is same and unfortunately lab mapped my email id to the doctor name. Every time i get reports, i reply to the same mail as I am NOT a doctor, they don't mind.. even called them to remove it, but they told it's Removed, within a day i get another report.
