Hi Friends,
My 5 Year old Hp Envy 13 Laptop's Ssd seems to be dead, now I am confused if I should replace the laptop or Buy a New 1TB nvme ssd which should be around 9k for wd or Samsung.
As for new laptop I need recommendation for around 1 Lac and I have Shortlisted Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 ultra 9 which is around 1.06 on amazon also Asus vivobook s16 oled which is around 1.02.
I use them for editing small marketing 4k videos and random browsing only. No gaming or videos as such.
Thanks

If the rest of your laptop is in good shape and still can get the job done, then it's a no brainer to get the SSD replaced instead of replacing the whole laptop.

If you are going to buy a new one, then I suggest HP Omen 16 - https://amzn.in/d/0MajnRk
It comes with 8gb RTX 4060 that can handle 4k rendering with ease, and pair that with Ryzen 7 7840HS you get a beast on your lap.

And right now, under the HP back to college offer, you can get 2 years of extended warranty for Rs. 1999.
Ps - HyperX Clutch is free with Omen series.

Right now it is selling for 1.12 lac on Amazon. I got it for around 80k in the last sale. Aim for that price if you are going to buy it.

Thanks for advice guys, old laptop works okay, i have an old ssd which is just 256gb so have to work with it, its battery is dying as well, just around an hour of backup and I can wait a bit longer to get advantage of Dusshera or diwali offers to buy a new one, I am not looking for a Gaming laptop as they tend to be heavy, also battery backup generally sucks.
I am open for advices, also Video editing i do is short 1-2 mins videos so do not need a power house.
I was targeting intel evo laptops.

If it's for video editing then you have to make a pc built not laptop or go for MacBook pro version, after few days you may want to improve from 2 min to some lengthy videos etc...

Existing laptop battery, SSD can be replaced by checking with a good computer technician, in SSD also they are few cost effective SSD , check them which is compatible with your motherboard and choose that SSD , choice should be inline with battery, sometimes a mismatch , your SSD can draw more power which puts pressure on battery (it's low probability)

1) Better go to a service center and verify if the SSD is gone. Could be another problem too.
2) If your usage is usual/normal - couple of hours a day, then better replace SSD. If it's a lot, you can consider buying a new laptop.

3) Consider macbooks or ThinkPad T-Series in 1L+ budget, if that's your budget. Avoid IdeaPad Ultra Max Pro Plus models of similar budget. These are not bad, but built differently.
