Lately, I have personally observed some members diverting conversations away from the actual topic of a thread, which is not acceptable. Additionally, a few members are posting memes and GIFs purely for fun. While lighthearted fun is fine occasionally, doing so repeatedly is something we can no longer allow.

Please consider this a warning to such members. If this behavior continues, we will have to take stricter actions.

I don't agree with this at all. This forum should evolve into a more social-financial platform instead of a strict Quora-like platform, and we know what happened to Quora. This feels like a threat/warning sign to engage with any member at any thread. Moreover the major responsibilities i.e diverting correction from actual topic/move fun thread etc should remain in the hands of mods as well as blameless member report oriented way. Anyway, this is an issue with a centralized forum like few people own it and bend the way they like it.

The problem is that it isn't intuitive at all. When you talk to someone you change context way more than you imagine with various tone/emotions and expect to control more than 50K to behave as per the rules that are created with irrational thoughts.

Out of the 50k members only a very few are actually active. Maybe more than 50% login once a year or just to get one of their questions resolved. And maybe 10-20% doesn't even come back even once.
Regular users could be maybe around 1000.

Quora is shit due to group ism and biases. Posts of some religion, political group gets targeted and vexed with it I stopped visiting it.


The best moderated form is teambhp.
Of course better than that is stackoverflow, but moderating that level is impossible here.

As I’ve mentioned multiple times before, topic-related memes and GIFs will be allowed within certain limits. We'll strive to find a balance between maintaining the fun aspect and ensuring the quality of the community.
