Hello,

I waited for Indusind bank valentine's day offer for partner account but it seems they are not offering this year.

Please recommend plan B for a joint account (with my wife) for tracking monthly expenses etc.

Requirement:
- 1 account number linked with both mobile number
- UPI should work with both mobile number
- SMS alert to both mobile number
- 0 or minimal MAB
- 0 or minimal debit card charges

Does it make sense to still get Indusind partner account and maintain 1L MAB?

Just FYI I opened a joint account in BoB in december and the service has been terrible.

Even after 2 months, they are not able to figure our why UPI is not working for secondary account holder.

I don't think 1 account can have 2 different numbers linked
Same goes for UPI

In case of joint account, 2 separate customer ids are created for both primary and secondary account holder and is linked to same account number.
These customer ids behave like 2 separate customers having individual mobile number, debit card etc.

I have a joint account with 4 different banks, UPI is only available for the primary account holder in the joint account.
2 different numbers can be linked and also 2 debits cards are given if applied for, but UPI is for the primary holder only. Banks: ICICI, SBI, HDFC, KBL

Maybe thats the reason ita not working for BoB joint account secondary holder as well.
Branch ppl are saying it will work, keep sending email to backend team.

Backend team is not replying.

Maybe i should forget joint account and use app like splitwise to manage expenses.

What RBI RIB said. UPI will work only for primary account holder, even if it's a joint account. Unless you have a credit card in which case, add-on credit card holder's UPI works on his mobile number (for some banks like BOB and IndusInd).

Overall nice experience with Union Bank of India for joint account. They have also improved their mobile app by a lot. You can do most of the things through it.

However, if you have to go to the branch for some reason then it's very time consuming especially due to rush and long queues.
