To buy an iPhone or not to?

15pro max is neither better than s23 ultra nor value for money.
That's the primary concern.
Secondary concern, every year we would start upgrading to next pro max where exchange value won't be good for previous one😟

How did you deduce 15 pro max isn't better than S23 Ultra when it's not even launched yet?

Why upgrade every year. Iphone are meant to be kept for atleast 3 Years unless there is a specific need based changed than a want based change.

Plus why will you buy a recent launch for full price, get 14 pro max on discount when 15 launches on a good discount.

Ladies aren't that logical otherwise world would be a better place.
I bought 3Gs for 20k,12 yrs back then first note for 32k.
After that I never bought an iPhone.
So,I guess I don't like iphones,so I think 15pro max can't best S23 ultra or atleast coming S24 ultra

Realistically all flagships are are at par now. It hardly matters to us end users if someone's processor is 10% faster or not. So it's pointless to debate if pro max is better or ultra. You buy any of them and you are set of you like theor ecosystem.

Mobiles have become stagnant in development. Look at Apple. Tweaking stuff here and there and declaring it as their BEST iphone ever 😂

I love the Fold from Samsung. No use to me otherwise it's a damn good device.

my experience:

I am a very casual user, no games, just browsing and email and occasional video)
i had the original iphone se. it was pretty good. however I will not buy an iphone again for the following reasons:
1. you cannot block sms senders which do not have a number. ( like AK-BAJFIN)
2. Music is a big problem if you are not into streaming and itunes.
3. many apps launch features in android first and then on iphone ( like i remember amazon pay had upi on android months before than ios)
4. absence of some niche apps (mainly FOSS and others)
5. no dual physical sim. Esim is simply inconvinient when exchanging phones and in other situations)
6. Iphone remembers all your wifi networks and cannot delete them individually unless you do a complete network reset
7. Lightning cable...i know this will change with iphone 15 but it is a pain in case you forget to carry one in airports and such. I have an airpod which still has lightning. complete move to usb-c would be great

Why I use an android:
(pixel now, but there are many sw bugs and modem + heating issues, will probably move to a sanpdragon samsung or lava if any)
1. Call recording. - Mainly for work, when u dont have a pen and paper in hand. It helps to note down customer sales calls at the end of the day. Also I wanted to record my grandfathers voice before he passed away. Similarly there are many personal anecdotes where a call recording is handy. Note: pixel doesnt have it. Thats why my next will be either lava or samsung
2. Many FOSS music apps with very good UI and lets you to download music
3. system wide adblock through adguard or private dns.
4. dual physical sim. Now that i use an esim i understand the pain.
5. App called Tachiyomi....unparalleled.
6. FOSS reddit app now use redreader.
7. NewPipe x SponsorBlock is excellent for youtube.

These were from the top of my head. Will add if i remember anything else
Grandfather's Voice 😍❤️.

Was in a same situation 3 years ago.
Finally bought a iPhone 12.
Got used to it in 3 months. Loved everything.
As other mentioned, it is a no-nonsense usage kind of phone. I use it only for calling, Instagram and WhatsApp.
But, my next phone would be definitely a Android. Either Pixel or a Samsung.

The only reason stopping me from switching to Android is the "Apple Watch"
I got used to it very much and I remove the watch only for charging. Everything right from the standalone calling function of the watch to the Fitness App of the watch, I am unable to leave the features of the watch.

Still I somehow want to switch to Android now itself, but unable to do it.
As other posts say, little little day to day usage features are lacking in iOS. (Call Recorder, Truecaller's Spam Blocking, only 100 calls in the call logs (will be changed to 500 in next update), etc...).

So just wanted to convey that, if you buy a iPhone, surely your next Laptop Purchase would be a Macbook. (iPhone and Mac both work exceptionally well in their ecosystem)
And then you will buy either Airpods or Apple Watch.
It will be very very difficult to leave the ecosystem, once u enter into it. So decide accordingly..

I plan to switch too. I hold a LG G8X.

Through my android experience, the issue isn't with any phone or OEM. It's Android OS itself. It just can't keep itself together after few years of use and patch updates. ALL my android phones became jittery, laggy, thing don't work when I really want them to. Today in a vkyc I couldn't hear the other persons voice properly and then after connecting earphones it showed connected and still sound was coming from phones speaker. Just pathetic experience. I haven't used the latest s23 ultra or pixel 7 series. But I'm sure they'll eventually turn out same. I am a very heavy user.

Ik iPhones have bugs too. I just hope those are irrelevant bugs. I want a stable phone. Do the basic well. I'm done with customization in my cynogenmod days. I will be jumping ship to experience the iOS glory. Hopefully I'm not disappointed because there's nothing left after that to go to.
