Hi folks
Hope all fine.
Recently my idfc card bill was generated for 5k.
And i tried to use my cc to pay at merchant qr which doesn't supports payment via cc. The thing is i payment is deducted from my rupay digital cc and refunded instantly now my bill is showing paid 😂..... As of now for month of jan no amount is due confirmed it via ivr. And whatsapp banking and idfc app is showing the same.

PS: Try at your risk (Worked for me)

did the merchant receive payment?

Correct me if I am wrong. You had a TAD of 5000 after the statement generation. Then after the said statement date you tried to make a UPI CC payment of say 5000 which failed and refunded back and now you have no amount due as the refund is considered as payment.

Your statement:
TAD: 5000
Merchant Txn (-5000)
Reverse (+5000)

This is technically possible but the (-5000) will be considered as Unbilled for the next month. Nothing wrong with this and the bank will either reverse your payment or continue with unbilled but not both. In the end you will get extra 50 days that's all (or none if it gets reversed on auto audit)

I would suggest make an extra payment of 5000 anyway (just to be safe) because if this is flagged in automated process, you wouldn't be notified either. You might end up destroying your CIBIL and IDFC wont do anything until you go all the way up to RBI and even then they will only remove the delayed payment, your score will still be F***ed

Then I would suggest you not take any risk(s) this time. Play it safe and pay the 5000 (or min due) on due date and keep monitoring until then. From next month you and the merchant can be best friends and he can start paying your CC bills. 😂

Again this all depends on the auto audit, you never know when the backend pushes an update you get F***ed without notice.

I wouldn't do this. The day bank will reconcile, they'll charge all the interest and also report to CIBIL. Too risky.
yeah he should pay the min due so cibil is untouched. and for Rs 50-100 interest he gets to know if the trick,....not a bad deal if u ask me

I have a merchant you doesnt accept CC UPI. so @OP all eyes on you right now 😂

But his trick is different. It is not a result of any error in any third-party application. Risk is there, but MAD can do the job for trial.

Correct MAD will be the hedge and the interest would be the risk. I wouldn't do this for anything more than 15-20 thousands. Cuz at worst I will have to pay 200-300 on interest.

@Dreams Of Desire 💓 This is not a loophole, just a normal banking process being creatively used.
