US don't want that to continue forever. China is making a lot of money by exporting things to US and other countries.
Now that US has asked for more tax from China if they want to send things to US, China will do 2 things -

Stop sending to US, instead dump on all other smaller countries.
China will also retaliate, ask US to pay more tax to send US things to China.
Here winner will be China because their manufacturing power is much more than US.
US has money, but cheap manufacturing is with other countries.

Another thing that can happen is Chinese items will be smuggled into US. Smuggling will increase.
Third thing is China will dump their shit products in other countries including India. That is not good for us.

Now other countries know that Trump is a fool and they can talk to US and bring down the taxes.
So they kept quiet and played it safe. But since it is a direct attack on China, they retaliated.

Trade tensions like these often create ripple effects economically as well politically throughout the world. Smuggling and dumping are real risks, and countries like India has been dealing with for a long time. We must act cautiously to protect our economy. Lot of our medium to long term economic growth plans depends on globalisation and growth in exports.

We are doing many things on self reliance.
 
First thing the world need to do is decouple themselves from USD for those international trades that has nothing to do with USA.

World seriously need a global currency not under control of any national government.

What is the UN, WTO doing?
Gold is a perceived hedge, not the real one.

The strength of the currency of each nation is proportional to its relative economic strength. Global currency cannot be magic solution. It will just enable the stronger nations like USA, China and even EU will have more say in the economic policies of weaker nations. Remember how debt crisis in Greece got worse because it can’t devalue its currency, because it is using Euro.

Dollar is the most dominated currency even today. Yuan, Ruble or Bricks, whatsoever cannot dethrone it.
Like how India has been a struggling economy for decades, even next many decades, US will be the world leader.
China with manpower, manufacturing alone cannot beat it. It is a fight between 30 trillion and 20 trillion economy.
Yes rest of the world suffers when elephants fight. We at 4 trillion are just small babies in front of them.

Nah, these days, by watering plants for few days, people start thinking garden is their only. So never allow anyone to water your plants in your absence. Have a automatic spray or leave home only when rainy season has started.

Owners gets shock of life after coming back from person watering. Then water comes from owner's eyes.
