Upgrade HDFC Millenia to Regalia Rupay for UPI?

Hisoka

TF Ace
I rarely use my Millenia card as I’ve other cards like Axis Ace, Magnus, MRCC etc. which fulfil most of my needs.

Is it a good idea to upgrade from Millenia to Regalia Rupay? I can use it through UPI on daily bases and reward system is better than HDFC Tata Neu (which mine recently got approved but I’ll close it if Regalia is better).

Through UPI I can easily spend 3 lacs in a year to waive the renewal fees (by regular scanner payments and transferring to UPI if that’s possible)

I didn’t read any posts about this as everyone was talking about Tata Neu cards only, but I think Regalia is way better than Tata Neu as in regalia we get rewards for flights hotel etc. I’m Tata neu we’ll just get Neu coins which we’ve to spend unnecessarily

Regalia RuPay give you rewards point and milestone benefit using UPI spend.

You can also pay any other banks credit card bill via Amazon using your RuPay Regalia link UPI and also get rewards/milestone benefit.

So is it better than Tata neu infinity Rupay?
Also, are milestone spends counted if I transfer the money to someone?

Because then I can easily achieve 15,000 bonus points milestone by spending 8 Lacs

HDFC has capped the maximum points in a month via Rupay credit-UPI to be 500 points per calendar month. So consider that into account.

But if I spend 8Lacs in a year then I’ll get 15,000 points in regalia right?

So I can just transfer the money into my bank account. Is there any catch?

If you regularly use Tata neu app then apply for Tata neu infinity Rupay but I have also heard that Tata Neu has blocked accounts for bulk ordering.

Credit card link UPI only allowed for Merchant UPI transactions, you can't send money to anyone.

Ya, monthly capped 500 points per calendar month but currently everyone getting more than 500 reward points. Can't say if any change in future.

Yes.

Only Merchant UPI transactions allowed, currently you can pay any other banks credit card bill pay via Amazon using Regalia UPI because cc bill pay also comes under merchant category.

RP value=0.20
Means 15K*0.2=3K (0.375% reward)
So, for 8L, Reward percentage=0.375+0.53 = 0.805%
Why do you want this low % reward?
You’re talking about Cashback. For flights and hotels reward rate is 0.5Rs per reward point. So 0.805*2.5 = 2%

What makes Tata neu infinity better than regalia if I’ll get 1.5% as neu coins only?

Not sure, but I saw somewhere that prices on Smartbuy usually higher & they charge 1%+GST on IRCTC (Not sure for Flight & Hotels)

You can buy groceries, electronic & many more

Hehe,
You edited that bank transfer part

It totally depends on your spends pattern. If flights/hotels is your main concern, then Tata Neu is of limited use

It’s not my main concern. I’ve Magnus and Axis Vistara for that

It’s just what’s the use of neu coins? I’ll buy electronics from Amazon or Flipkart as they’re more trusted and offer more discount than Tata neu. So it’s better to opt for regalia. At least it’ll provide something I can use

You have to check the Tata Neu app then for various options to utilize the neucoins. Brands like Bigbasket & 1MG which I use personally and many others are also available.
