Wallets with PPI can be used on Small Merchants. I used to use Paytm Wallet and Transit Card (as Visa is accepted everywhere) where Amex was not accepted.
Which is surprisingly often. My local McD, 24x7, Kendriya Bhandar etc don't accept Amex. New Delhi- Administrative.

Also, even with Paytm 2.65% Charge, I would have net rewards of 2.35% (5% Amex - 2.65% Charges) higher than best UPI Card.
Nope still kiwi is best on 5 % on upi best card for upi all time

Or 2% via hdfc millina credit card spend 1l in quatar

It’s good rate u r lucky
For me it shows 3.26%
Payzapp don’t accept Amex cards thats the problem
I think if you use it regularly they may lower it. I usually trf every alternate month 50k to pay other dues where amex not accepted. Else normally i use it for taj itc leela and marriot or any 4 and 5 star where they accept amex. Plus on airindia plat chg for 10x MR points. some times 20 to 25k depends. Mrcc 20k 1k bonus u get but I normally don't do the 1500 4times and 1k 6 times in gold charge .. if u do in mrcc u get 2k plus transaction Mr points to and in gc 1000mr for 1k 6 times plus transaction mr . In a month u get around 4800 Mr points.

But why the insistence of using Amex if merchant is not accepting? And that too by loading wallet with extra charges? There are many other good cards which can be used without any extra charges directly isn't it? For UPI payments, just use UPI CC wherever possible

Just came to the realisation and stopped loading just this month. For the first time in a year, it felt like a chore and realised I don't want to do this anymore (that too after they keep hiking the charges). Maybe keep 1 for any offers and potential referrals (😅😂🤣)

This is a very wise decision.. you have explained the current situation in a very simple terms...
I had already closed Gold and PT about 2 months ago.. only kept MRCC which has 1.5k annula fee &1.5L fee waiver..

Of course for upi only rupay works, most of them do this in this forum using rupay for upi and amex and standard ultimate are the only cards which give points for wallet loads all other cards don't. Understand your point instead of wallet to use other cards. Each cards are meant for different usage patterns and for offers. Most of the members use different cards for different purpose and amex usually give good offers and milestone benefits as far as I know... and also for some it is status symbol and some don't care... amex normally is used for luxury hotels and airlines to accumulate MR points and these can be transfered to airlines and hotel. Eg infinia hdfc is out of reach for many and me in this forum although infinia had lot of conditions to get the card and also not guaranteed hdfc will issue it.. not sure of others but not lucky 😕

That is only first time during g referral from. Second year it is 4k annual fee. But if you spend 1.5L per year, 4k annual fee is waived off.
Wrong.

Earlier Amex MRCC fee was 1.5K each year when applied using referral link. First year was Free or ₹ 1K.
Now they increased it FOR NEW APPLICATIONS to 4K or whatever.

SSV has MRCC from time when fee was 1.5K (Waived 50% at 90K and 100% at 150K) and he will have same fee structure TILL he closes MRCC card.
